Gospel Reading

SIXTH SUNDAY OF EASTER YEAR B

A reading from the holy Gospel according to John

Jesus said to his disciples:

‘As the Father has loved me,

so I have loved you.

Remain in my love.

If you keep my commandments

you will remain in my love,

just as I have kept my Father's commandments

and remain in his love.

I have told you this

so that my own joy may be in you

and your joy be complete.

This is my commandment:

love one another,

as I have loved you.

A man can have no greater love

than to lay down his life for his friends.

You are my friends,

if you do what I command you,

I shall not call you servants any more,

because a servant does not know

his master’s business;

I call you friends,

because I have made known to you

everything I have learnt from my Father.

You did not choose me,

no, I chose you;

and I commissioned you

to go out and to bear fruit,

fruit that will last;

and then the Father will give you

anything you ask him in my name.

What I command you

is to love one another.’

Living the Gospel – Love One Another

Have you ever thought what it really means when Jesus commands us to love one another? At first, it seems like a simple commandment: I can love my family; my friends; I can even feel love for some people I’ve never met. But there was a condition that Jesus placed on the command: love one another as I have loved you. How did Jesus love? Without restriction and without seeking something in return. He loved those that no one loved and he even loved those who hated him and sought his downfall. Can I love those who hate me? Those that others ridicule and despise? Can I love without counting the cost?

Mother's Day Liturgy - Year 2

YEAR 6 RE

 “There are a variety of gifts, but the same spirit…. A variety of service, but the same Lord...it is the same God who inspires them all” 1 Corinthians 12:4

This term Year 6 are looking at the variety of pathways to God. We have discovered many different religions are celebrated in the Parramatta region with Catholicism being the main religion in the area.

We have discussed the similarities and differences between Christian faiths.

We have also discussed and prayed for the gift of Jesus in the Eucharist and how it is an integral part of our faith and journey to God. The students have made a connection to last term’s learning cycle discussing God’s plan of salvation, for us all to be closer to him through our daily interactions and prayer life.

Canteen Account

Parents & Carers,

It seems Flexischools have been having constant technical difficulties. May we suggest you open up a canteen account and place your lunches this way? You can open a canteen account either at the canteen or on our website. Your child can then order their lunch in the morning over the counter using their account or you can ring the canteen and place the order over the phone using your account.
