Dear Parents and Carers,
NAIDOC Week - Heal Country
A sincere thank you to Aunty Gai, Mr Hill and Bree from Vincentia High School, as well as Dhaawarri VHS student dancers, and Jackson and Harley from Clontarf for joining us for our NAIDOC assembly today. Their Welcome to Country and traditional Aboriginal dances lead beautifully into culturally rich learning activities, facilitated by the high school and Clontarf. I was so proud of our Aboriginal students who, after many rehearsals, performed amazingly alongside their high school peers.
Today’s assembly followed yesterday’s Doing Things Together day where our Year 6 students displayed outstanding leadership when facilitating a range of activities for the rest of the school.
Playground Installation
You may have noticed our old playground equipment was removed last weekend. Our new equipment is scheduled to be installed over the holidays. We can’t wait!
School Grounds Closed These School Holidays
In recent holidays, our school grounds have been open for our community to enjoy. However, due to the playground installation, we are not participating in the Share our Space initiative. This means that the school grounds should not be accessed by the community. If you see any suspicious activity, please contact School Security on 1300 880 021.
End of Term Reward
Tomorrow, we will be celebrating the end of term with a free sausage sizzle for all of our students who haven’t received 3 or more behaviour referrals this term. Well done on maintaining a high level of behaviour!
Public Speaking Grand Final
Tomorrow we will be hosting our Public Speaking grand final. Parents are most welcome to join us in the 5/6 classrooms at 12:15. Congratulations to our amazing speakers!
Happy Holidays
We congratulate each and every one of our students for the progress they have made throughout Semester 1 and wish them a safe and happy holiday. Students return to school on Tuesday 13 July.
Stay safe,
Rod White
Principal
