Snap 7 Day Lockdown

Dear Parents

Consistent with previous arrangements, St Timothy's will continue to provide onsite supervision for students nut ONLY  in the following categories:

  • Children where both parents and/or carers are authorised workers who cannot work from home, work for an essential provider and where no other supervision arrangements can be made:Where there are two parents/carers, both must be authorised workers, working outside the home in order for their children to be eligible for onsite provision

  • For single parents/carers, the authorised worker must be working outside the home in order for their children to be eligible for onsite provision.

  • Children experiencing vulnerability, including: children in out-of-home carechildren deemed vulnerable by a government agency, funded family or family violence service, and is assessed as requiring education and care outside the family home children identified by a school as vulnerable, including via referral from a government agency, or funded family or family violence service, homeless or youth justice service or mental health or other health service.

  • Where a parent/carer indicates that a student with a disability is vulnerable because they cannot learn from home, and/or informs the school the student is vulnerable due to family stress, the school must provide onsite supervision for that student. This may apply to students enrolled in specialist schools and students with a disability enrolled in mainstream schools.

Onsite supervision is available but only for students in the categories listed above, for the purpose of providing continuity of teaching, learning and support.

If parents meet the criteria and require onsite supervision please email Anne Maree ajones@sttims.cathoilic.edu.au  outlining days and times required by Friday 6th August at 3 pm.

Whilst we would love to offer care outside these rules we must comply for the safety of our community and the wider Victorian Community.

We thank you for your support, I appreciate how challenging this is for both school and families.

Stay Safe

Year Prep, 1 & 2 Additional Work Packs

The Year P12 teachers have been working on-site this morning to provide additional learning activities for the children given that the Snap Lockdown is lasting longer than predicted/expected.

The children were provided with mini work packs yesterday assuming it may be a one or two-day lockdown. We were all surprised by the longer time.

Additional work packs, including iPads will be available from 12:30-2:30pm today for pick up.

Please ring the school if you are unable to collect at that time.

Please wear a mask and use QR code on the outside of the entrance door.

Thank you

Anne Maree

First Eucharist

The celebration for the Sacrament of First Eucharist is planned for Saturday 14th August at 6pm  but  the latest lockdown again will impact in final decision whether restrictions will allow it to go ahead. I suspect if we are able to go ahead, there will be a significant drop in numbers permitted at mass celebrations.

In this current climate, dates and times are unpredictable, subject to change at any time, so we need to take advantage whenever we the opportunity allows. Unfortunately, we wont be able to confirm whether First Eucharist will go ahead or exact numbers until closer to the evening.

Gymnastics

Once again, we have been able to access funding through Sporting Schools to provide a 5 week gymnastics program this term. It is a wonderful opportunity for children to participate in a specialized gymnastics program.

PLEASE REMEBER TO WEAR SPORTS UNIFORM IN ORDER TO ENJOY THE WIDE RANGE OF ACTIVITIES

Olympics Fun

The Year 6 Sports & Wellbeing Leaders will be assisting in running St Timothy's mini Olympics with a twist fun day on Monday 16th August. Children are asked to come dressed in SPORTS UNIFORM & add Australian colours (Green & Gold). All the children will be involved in fun track and field events with a twist.
