Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Our lovely Spring weather is eluding us this week.  There are a large number of students coming to school without jumpers or coats to keep them warm in the playground.  Please remind your children to pack one, even if they don't feel the cold.

The year 5/6 classes had a wonderful time at the Cave Hill Creek camp last Thursday and Friday.  I was very impressed with their willingness to try new and challenging activities despite the miserable weather conditions.  Thank you to the teachers and support staff who gave their time and energy to care for the children in a multitude of ways...day and night!

A reminder that next Monday is a Closure Day.  Teachers will be writing semester 2 reports.

Kind regards,

Olga Lyons, Principal

COVID vaccinations for students aged 12+

The Victorian Government is encouraging everyone aged 12 and over to get vaccinated as soon as possible, with the aim of providing an opportunity for all children aged 12 years and older to receive at least one vaccine dose by the end of the school year.

Vaccination is not mandatory for 12 year olds at this stage but is strongly encouraged. Getting vaccinated is the best way to protect school communities from further outbreaks and the spread of COVID-19

To help schools understand and share important information about COVID-19 vaccine eligibility and safety, the Department of Education and Training has put together this communications toolkit. The kit provides a range of materials for students aged 12 and above, as well as final year students, and includes social media content, a poster, web banners, newsletter copy and FAQs and other informational resources to help students and parents make informed decisions about their vaccination. It also provides links to various Commonwealth and State Government information resources about the vaccination program.

So if you have anything at home for our recycling station (bread tags, bottle lids, batteries, etc) please bring it in this week or next week.

Thanks in advance,

Sustainability Team.

Kinder Transition to School

Our transition to school program began this week on Tuesday and Wednesday and will continue for 3 weeks.  The Kinder groups will spend 2 hours in the Foundation classroom and getting to know our school.  The current Foundation children and teachers enjoyed meeting them and showing them all about being at school.  If you see new parents dropping children off in the mornings please make them welcome.
