Term 4 Week 3 eNewsletter

Term 4 has started well and it is great to see our students working hard and producing some great work. It was great to read some of our students writing on 'the box', a whole school writing task that has helped us identify priorities when teaching writing. Our students can be very creative!

I was very pleased to see the netball / basketball court project finalised with the installation of the new reversible posts. Thanks to Luke Crump for the use of the Hiab truck crane to lift them into position. I hope this improved area is enjoyed for many years to come. The finishing touches to this area will be some native gardens, however I am waiting to hear the outcome of a government grant to fund that part of the project.

The P&C will be holding a 'markets' day on the school oval on Saturday 30th November. We are looking for more stall holders, including second hand goods, fresh produce, arts and crafts etc. So why not have a clean up prior to Christmas! If you are interested please email the school on

ellalong-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au

Please remember that we have students with anaphylaxis to nuts and crustaceans. Food containing those items should not be brought to school.

Current school attendance is 92.51%. Target is 94%.

We look forward to seeing you at our great school soon.

Kindergarten 2020 Orientation

It was great to see our 2020 Kindergarten students for the first time last Thursday. Our new students are almost as excited about starting big school as our Year 5's are about being their buddies! We look forward to getting to know them more over the coming weeks.

We are also still hoping to find a Christmas Hamper Raffle Coordinator for this year and a Canteen Coordinator for 2020. If you're interested, please let Mr Gaden know.

Responsible Pet Program and Water Safety

On Thursday 5th November we have two free events for our students.

2/3K and 4/5R will be involved in a water safety talk provided by Royal Life Saving Australia, sharing important information on the risks associated with aquatic activities and learning some basic CPR.

K/1B and 1/2R will be involved in the Responsible Pet Program, aimed at helping students learning how to stay safe around pets. 'Thunder' the dog will be there as part of the presentation.

No permission notes will be sent home for these free incursions. If you do not wish your child to attend, please let their class teacher know.
