From the Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,

It's hard to believe that it's week 8 already.  I hope families are gearing up for our Term 1 Parents and Friends "Street Race" held after school on Friday 26th.   This is the first opportunity to host a family focused event in quite some time.  I'm looking forward to meeting as many parents as possible at the BBQ after the race. Thank you to the P & F  for the planning and organising they have done.

Congratulations to the swimmers who represented St. Patrick's last week at the Division Swimming Competition.  Some are now heading to Horsham this Friday to compete at the next level.  We wish them all the best.

We have a large team of Athletes going to Warrnambool next Wednesday to compete at the Moyne Athletics Carnival.  We look forward to hearing about their achievements.

The response to our Easter Egg donation drive has been fantastic.  If you haven't yet contributed, please sent your donated item to the office by Tuesday March 30th. The more donations, the more prizes we will have to give away.

Kind regards,

Olga Lyons, Principal

Wellbeing News

SWBPS

Last Friday our staff spent a day looking into our SWPBS framework. SWPBS is used to promote positive behaviour and help improve school safety. It also guides our staff on how to respond to a child who displays behaviours that are not appropriate.  We had a very valuable day unpacking our expected behaviour matrix and dividing our unexpected behaviours into  problem, minor and major behaviours.

At its heart, SWPBS calls on staff to teach kids about behaviour, just as they would teach about any other subject - like reading or math. SWPBS recognises that students can only meet behaviour expectations if they know what the expectations are.  This week you will receive a hard copy of our expected behaviour matrix. It looks like the picture.

Congratulations again to all students for their efforts in qualifying and thanks for your efforts, both training and competing.  Thanks to all the mums and dads who came along to support and for assisting with various marshalling/timekeeping duties.

Students who qualified in the top 6 competitors for each event have further qualified to represent St. Pat’s at this Friday’s Greater Western Region swimming championships in Horsham.

We congratulate the following students and wish them luck for this Friday:
