Dear Parents,

We hope that you find the information in this Return to School newsletter useful in preparing your child and yourselves for next week and the week after. 

We are committed to keeping our entire community safe during this transition back to school and appreciate your continued support. Let Us Know When Your Child is Returning

While we look forward to welcoming students back on the dates below, we understand that there may be cases where students are unable to return to school as anticipated.  So we can prepare for students’ return to school, and support those who are unable to return to school as much as possible, please click the button above and fill in the form.

Return to School 'Roadmap' Guidelines

We are responding to NSW Health and Catholic Schools NSW guidelines to ensure that students and staff return to school in a COVID safe way.  This will mean some changes to our usual routines.  We ask for your support and cooperation as we implement these procedures. 

These procedures include:

  • mandatory vaccination of all staff and visitors on and from 18 October
  • wearing masks
  • physical distancing practices
  • cohort arrangements
  • hygiene practices (handwashing, sanitising),
  • ventilation in indoor spaces
  • routine cleaning and high touch area focused cleaning.

Below are the key measures that will be in place for St Anthony's.  We ask you to be aware of them and help us to follow them.

Arrival Procedures

End of School Day Dismissal

Starting on Monday, there will be changed dismissal procedures in line with COVID guidelines for schools.

Uniform

Now that it is Term 4, we are returning to school in summer uniform.  Please check that all pieces of uniform still fit and that they are all clearly labelled with your child's name.

Please see the Uniform Shop item below for more information about ordering uniforms in a COVID safe way.

St Anthony's Uniform Shop

The uniform shop will be open for pre-orders only. Order forms can be downloaded from our school website. This can be sent with you child or emailed to girraween@parra.catholic.edu.au 

No cash will be accepted at this time; please complete the payment using the order form.

Orders will be sent home with your child.

Mel's Tasty Bites - Canteen Update

The Canteen will reopen on Monday 25 October.  Help us follow COVID Safe Practices by ordering online as much as possible.

CANTEEN ACCOUNTS - consider opening a canteen account to minimise cash handling, see information on our website

BIRTHDAYS - Please contact the Canteen for options.

Activities that are not permitted or on hold

The following activities are currently not permitted according to the latest guidelines:

  • Singing, chanting, group repetition and choirs

  • Sport (except for sport within existing PDHPE classes, provided this limits student mixing)

  • Bands and ensembles

  • Interschool activities and events including interschool sport, gala days, trials, knock outs and carnivals

  • Assemblies; Whole school Masses

  • School performances, productions, concerts, speech nights and award presentations

  • Excursions, camps, field trips and principal-endorsed activities for students

  • Community events (fetes, grandparents’ days etc.)

  • SCG activities, including meetings (unless held online only)

St Anthony's Catholic Out of School Hours Care (COSHC)

Before and After School Care at St Anthony's transitioned to the care of COSHC at the end of Term 2.  If you need before and after school care for your child and are not already enrolled, please contact the team at St Anthony's COSHC directly for more information.
