Semester Two Reports

As our year draws to a close our teachers are very busy preparing the Semester Two Reports on student achievement. These reports will be made available on Tuesday 17th December.

Parents should be advised that this semester, reports will be released through the Sentral Parent Portal. This means that rather than receiving a printed copy sent home with students, families will access an electronic copy of their children's reports. Apart from the environmental aspect, this move will mean that all families receive reports in a timely manner (even if their child is not at school) and makes it easier for reports to be distributed to shared families.

Please note, it may be helpful to check your Sentral Parent Portal access prior to reports going live.

Sports in Schools Program 2020

We are excited to share with you a new and innovative program we will launch with our Bay Community of Schools in 2020.

In 2020, our Bay Community of Schools, comprising Biddabah PS, Eleebana PS, Valentine PS and Warners Bay PS, will engage Sports in Schools, to provide a year-long program of engaging and exciting Physical Education, Health and Wellbeing lessons for our students from Kindergarten to Year Six. As the SISA staff work with our students, our teachers will be afforded valuable time for professional learning and collaborative practice. Teachers will work and learn together to enhance pedagogy, analyse student learning and ensure high quality practices.

The SISA APL program is one that delivers the best of high quality leaning and experiences for our students and staff alike.

As a significant feature of our planned professional learning, our schools will each contribute funds towards this valuable program making it an affordable for families at only $50 per semester.

We look forward to launching this program next year and are excited about the opportunities it will provide.

Library News

Book Club:

Orders for Issue 8 of Book Club need to be finalised by Monday 2nd December. This is the last issue of 2019! Many popular titles are discounted and some are only $2. If you would like to do some Christmas shopping, when you are completing your purchase through The Loop, you can opt to label your purchase a ‘gift’. This way, orders go to the office for parents to collect, rather than going home with students.

Please note: we no longer accept cash orders for Book Club. Please place all orders online at https://mybookclubs.scholastic.com.au/Parent/Login.aspx

Overdue Books and Returns

A friendly reminder for students to please return all library books, especially those that are overdue, as we are nearing the end of the year and it is almost stocktake time. Overdue notices were sent via email in Week 8. Please contact Mrs Gibson with questions or concerns regarding overdue books.

Book Week and Book Fair:

Thank you to everyone for supporting our school Book Week celebrations and our Book Fair. We had a really positive response from the community and the students had a fantastic time. Thank you to everyone who put in loads of effort into costumes and made a purchase at the fair! We had an amazing response and ended up with over $2400 worth of commission to spend on more books for our students! Thank you so much! All reorders from the fair have either been distributed to students, or will be this week. If there are concerns about them, please let us know and we will be more than happy to help.
