Sizzling Starts
‘Help, help!’ I screamed with terror. My lungs were quickly filling with smoke. I felt beads of sweat dripping down my face.
‘Stay calm,’ I heard the fireman yell out to me. All of a sudden, the roof caved in. My sight went fuzzy, then black.

The fire alarm blared as I ran to the fire exit. I pushed open the door and was met with a sheer drop, the external fire escape had fallen off the building. With my blood pumping through my body, I sprinted towards the elevator. As the elevator doors opened the whole building shook. I realised the building was crumbling and I needed to get out!

‘Brrr, Brrrr,’ the baker listened intently to the soft hum of the glass elevator. Beads of sweat began to form on his face as his heart pounded so much that it felt like it would leap out of his chest. Staying still, staying silent. He clutched the crisp baby blue box in his hands as if it was a ticking bomb.

I screamed as fire started to climb up the building. I took a gulp of smoke-filled air, sweat dripped down my face as the fire reached out towards me. The cries of the family almost went unheard as the crackle of fire filled my ears. My head was light and dizzy and everything started to fade away.
