The Brush Telegraph

Week 10 – Term 1 2021

Message From The Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,

Yet again, the Wingham and wider community have stood together and displayed courage, resilience and true Australian mateship in the face of adversity. These are the qualities we want our children to see, hear and aspire to. We hope all our families and community members are safe and getting the support they need.

Thank you to all for your patience and understanding during the week's school closure. We were frustrated at the daily wait for operational status but the student and staff safety has to always be the priority.

Due to the grounds being very muddy, slippery and unsafe we will be postponing the cross country carnival until next term. The new date will be Friday 23 April.

Please enjoy the break with family and friends, stay safe, relax and return rejuvenated for another action packed term.

‘When crisis comes we begin to see that community is the true and irreplaceable infrastructure.’- anon.

Regards,

Kylie Seaman

Principal

Goodbye Mrs Buckley

Sadly, we are saying goodbye to Mrs Natasha Buckley who will be leaving us at the end of this term. Mrs Buckley is taking up a teaching position at Port Macquarie’s Distance Education School. This is wonderful news for her and her family, after many hours of long travel to our school she will be closer to home.

We would like to thank her for teaching with passion and putting her heart and soul into teaching our students. We wish her every success and happiness as she moves onto her new adventure.

After the holidays, I am happy to inform you that Mr Jason Goodwin will be taking the class for the remainder of the school year. I am confident that he will continue to help our children grow and learn.

You are all warmly invited to the P&C AGM (Annual General Meeting) on Wednesday March 31 at 1pm at the school. All executive positions will be vacant and need to be filled for 2021 P&C to continue. If you would like to help keep the Wingham Brush P&C running for 2021 and the future, we need the executive positions filled along with new members to join. People elected in these positions at the AGM will have training and support in the takeover transition time from the existing executives. We hope to see some new members soon. Thank you for your understanding.
