Zone Swimmers Award Presentation

Congratulations to the MIPS students who competed in the 2021 Blacktown Zone Swimming Carnival.

AFL Paul Kelly Cup

On Thursday 25th February, our Stage 3 boys and Stage 3 girls AFL teams had a blast playing at Hills Centenary during the Paul Kelly Cup Gala day. Despite the stormy weather, players had a great time.

Both teams played amazing rounds to make it to the finals. The competition was too strong in the end and unfortunately we didn’t bring home the win this time. Even with the rain coming down, all players were on the field giving it their best effort.

Thank you to all parents who came out to support and coach the players.

We are super proud - GO MIPS!

Australian Government Assistance for National Capital Excursion

Last week, students from Year 6 at Mary Immaculate participated in an educational tour of Canberra. While on this excursion they experienced a variety of educational programs focused on Australia’s history, culture, heritage and democracy.

The Australian Government recognises the importance of all young Australians being able to visit their National Capital as part of their civics and citizenship education. To assist parents in meeting the cost of the excursion, the Australian Government will be contributing funding of $30 per eligible student under the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate program toward any travel expenses incurred. The contribution is paid directly to the school upon completion of the excursion.

We would like to thank the Australian Government for their support of this program. We know that the excursion was a rewarding experience for all of our students.

Premier's Reading Challenge 2021

Welcome to the 2021Premier's Reading Challenge, the biggest children's book club in Australia! There has already been a great response to the challenge this year from previous participants and it is great to hear many children saying that they are on their way to earning their Bronze, SIlver or Gold certificate and a place on the Honour Roll. The Premier’s Reading Challenge runs from today (Monday, 1st  March) and finishes in August (Term 3).

If your child has previously completed the challenge, your child’s Username and Password remains the same.

Kindergarten students will receive their Username and Password in the coming weeks.

New students in other grades will be allocated their PRC usernames and passwords over the coming weeks, ready to complete their online reading records. These will be handed to new students by class teachers.

Special note: All children from K-2 will complete the challenge during class time. The teachers will enter the 30 books for all students, so K-2 parents do not need to enter anything online.
