Holy Trinity Primary Granville

Term 2 Week 10 - 25th June 2021

From the Leadership Team

Philip Mahony | Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we come to the end of a very busy and productive Term 2, there are a couple of changes with staffing next term.

Miss Jessica Rapesoska has been appointed as a teacher at St Luke's Marsden Park, one of the newest Pre to Year 12 schools in the Parramatta Diocese. It is a great opportunity for Miss Rapesoska to join St Luke's and we wish her all the best and thank her for her contribution to Holy Trinity for the last 7 years.

We welcome Miss Ebru Arslan who will be teaching Year 1 for Term 3 and 4.

We welcome back Mr Galea next term, after his time as Acting Assistant Principal at Holy Family, Granville East. To maintain consistency, Ms Vivi Arida will continue to teach Year 6 from Monday to Thursday, with Mrs Randa Osman and Mr Galea working with Year 6 on Fridays. Mr Galea will take on the extra role of assisting students in Years 3 to 6.

Mrs Lisa Ibrahim will be returning from leave and will be teaching Kindergarten to Year 6 on Wednesday and Thursday.

Mrs Rita Khoury gave birth to a baby daughter, Ava-Maria, on the 9th June. We congratulate Rita and her husband on the arrival of baby Ava-Maria.

Parent Teacher Interviews

Thank you for your positive involvement with the interviews during the week. You now know what areas your child have achieved in and the next steps for their learning. It is important that we work in a partnership for the benefit of your child's learning.

Term 3 commences on Monday 12th July.

Warm regards

Phil Mahony

Jason Fisher | Assistant Principal

Sports Carnival

The HTG Athletics Carnival was held last Friday. The day was a great success thanks to the Dancefever staff, HTG teachers and parent helpers. The children competed with enthusiasm and showed great sportsmanship.

The final House results were as follows: First      - Campion (Yellow)

                                                                        Second - Gilroy (Blue)

                                                                        Third    - Delany (Green)

                                                                        Fourth - Mackillop (Red)

The School Zone Team will be announced early next term as soon as the team is finalised.

Communication between school and home.

At HTG we rely on the united effort of school and home to gain the best results we can for the children. Quite often there are issues that happen at school where parents need to be called due to the nature of the incident. Similarly there are times where children tell parents/Carers about issues that happened at school and the teachers are unaware of the incident.

We need to keep each other informed so issues are dealt with in a timely fashion. If you have any concerns about something that has happened at school please don’t hesitate to make contact with the school.

Religious Education

The Sacrament Confirmation

We congratulate and pray for Taleeyah, Charles and Kevin from Year 5 who received the Holy Spirit through the Sacrament of Confirmation on Saturday June 13. Through Confirmation we believe that the children received the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit including Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Fortitude, Knowledge, Piety and Reverence. May the Holy Spirit bless you, protect you and guide you at all times.

NAIDOC Week

NAIDOC Week is a celebration of the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It is celebrated by all Australians, it is a great opportunity to participate in a range of activities. This year's theme is ‘Healing Country’, it calls us to continue to seek greater protection for lands, waters, sacred sites and the cultural heritage of the Aboriginal peoples from exploitation, desecration, and destruction.

NAIDOC Week takes place from July 4th to July 11th. We encourage you to attend a local event and/or have a conversation about the traditional owners of our land, the Aboriginal people.

School Holiday Prayer

Dear Lord,

We thank you for the many blessings we have received this term. We voice our gratitude for the good things you have done for us and we praise you for all who have shared in the work of our school. We ask you to please bless all our learners, their families and our staff and give them refreshment and peace during these holidays. Amen
