St Mary's Bulletin

Term 3 - Week 5 (19 August, 2021)

Dear St Mary's School Community

Value in Focus: Responsibility

We have a duty to be accountable to ourselves and others.

Faction Long Jump

Thank you to the students from Year One to Year Six for participating in the Faction Long Jump on Monday. The students displayed excellent sportsmanship and all persisted to perform their best on the day. Thank you to Mrs Criddle for her organisation and co-ordination of this event and to the parent helpers.

Catholic Performing Arts

A huge congratulations to our students who participated in the Catholic Performing Arts on Wednesday night. Ms Coniglio assures me that the performance was fantastic and she was extremely proud of all the staff and students who ensured the event a success. Thank you to Miss Wells and Mrs Millar for all their hard work and effort in preparing the students. Thank you to Ms Holmes and Mrs Criddle for their expertise with costumes and backstage. You should be very proud of your efforts! Once again, congratulations!

Catholic Leave Day

A reminder that there is no school tomorrow, Friday 20 August. Enjoy the well-deserved break with your families.

Book Week

Our Book Week dress-up, parade and activities will occur on Wednesday, 25 August. The dress up theme is 'Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds.' Alternatively, you may dress up for Science Week which we are celebrating on the same day.

Faction Athletics Carnival and Throws

A reminder that the Faction Athletics Carnival and Throws are on Friday, 27 August at the Recreation Centre Oval. Students from Year One to Year Six will be participating in the Throws and students from PP to Year Six will then participate in the Athletics Carnival. Please wear your sports uniform with faction t-shirt.

Children’s Liturgy

A reminder that our next Children’s Liturgy is now on Sunday, 29 August at 10.30am. All families are invited and encouraged to attend.

Parent Reading Roster

This week we have started our Parent Reading Roster in the Year One, Year Two and Year Three/Four classrooms on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings before school. The roster will provide students with an opportunity to practice their reading on a regular basis. Thank you to our volunteers for providing this opportunity for our students. If anyone else is interested, please email Pauline at Pauline.riethmuller@cewa.edu.au for further details.

School Organisational Climate Survey

A final reminder to please complete our School Organisational Climate Survey via the skoolbag link. Alternatively, paper copies can be collected from the front office. Thank you in advance for your valuable feedback.

Acting Principal

As my time as Acting Principal has come to an end, I would like to take the opportunity to thank the staff, students and parents for their support throughout the three weeks. I have very much enjoyed my time and I thank everyone for their kind words, support and friendly faces. It is a humble reminder of how much I cherish the St Mary’s School community.

I wish you all a wonderful weekend.

Mrs Zoe O'Malley

Acting Principal
