Principal's News

Dear Families

A warm welcome to 2024! It has been a wonderful start to the school year settling in to our new classrooms with peers and staff and as well having the important Meet and Greet sessions over the past two evenings.

On Tuesday, we celebrated our Beginning of year Mass where our students were so reverent and prayerful. Father's homily brought our attention to Mary's appearance to the children in Fatima Portugal, where she told Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta to share the message of peace to the world. Father highlighted to us that this starts with each one of us - students, parents/carers and staff using our kind words, hands and hearts in the world. I encourage each of us to hold this message strongly in our daily interactions.

Calendar dates

Please see below for all our Term 1 dates and events. I’d like to draw your attention to our Family Picnic on Thursday 22 February from 4.30-6.30pm - lock it in your calendar. More information to come!

Code of Conduct

Our Lady of Fatima is committed to ensuring a respectful learning environment that is safe, positive and supportive of all students, staff and visitors of the school. Please click here to read the attached Code of Conduct that is expected with your child/children’s enrolment.

Home learning

Next Friday, you will receive Level News providing information around the expected home learning for your child/ren at their year level.

New families and enrolments

As you are aware we are proudly a small Catholic primary school on the peninsula, with a key focus on learning, wellbeing and knowing our students. We intentionally have small class sizes and set up structures so that we have teams of teachers that foster collaboration. Another point of difference is our spacious and secure grounds and the HUB. Knowing this, we are proud to say that our numbers have increased for the first time in nearly fifteen years. We welcome all our new families across the school to our inclusive community and look forward to our positive partnership together.

Religious Education Leader

I am delighted to announce that Vanessa Mastramico has been appointed as our Religious Education Leader.  This is a significant position in fostering the religious dimension of the school and ensuring that our Catholic identity is transparent to all those associated with the school community. I do wish to thank Alicia Baker for her dedication and passion in this over the many years she undertook this role.

School start time

A friendly reminder that students are expected to be in classrooms before 8.55am as our first period commences at 8.55am. Our classroom doors open at 8.43am with 'Getting Ready to Learn' commencing.

Uniform Shop

We require a couple more volunteers to help us in our second hand uniform shop. It can be any day and either at the beginning of the school day or end. If you can assist, please contact Sue in the Office in person, by phone or email - info@fatimarosebud.catholic.edu.au.

Working With Children (WWC)

The Working with Children Check is a screening process for assessing or re-assessing people who work with or care for children in Victoria. Please know to volunteer in schools you must have a current WWC and provide a copy to the Office.

2024 Fees and Charges

2024 Fees statements will be sent via email next week. Please click here for 2024 Fees schedule.

Do you have a current health care card?

Do you live more than 4.8kms from school?

In closing, tomorrow we have our first assembly of the year hosted by 5/6B. As part of this presentation, our 2024 School Leaders will receive their badges. We'd love to see you there if you can make it!

Go well 🙂
