Dear Parents, we seem to be travelling at a very fast pace with the beginning of June in our sights. With the start of winter we usually see the onset of cold and flu symptoms.
As we are still in our COVID 19 period, we ask all parents to please keep your children at home if they are unwell. If they are at school and they present with symptoms you will be called to pick them up from the office. I understand that this is inconvenient for some parents to leave work, however if you saw the news this week, Victoria has had another spread of active cases in the community in the past few days. We are not free of this and we still need to be hypervigilant to ensure we keep ourselves as safe as we can.
I sincerely thank you for your ongoing support in this area.
P&F Fundraising
Our next Fundraising event is our grade discos in week 10. Our P&F committee is working hard preparing for this event. The cost of this fundraiser is $5.00. For this event we will be launching our new method of payment. A letter went home last week explaining our cashless system. If you have any issues, please contact the office and the team will assist you. More information see QKR APP in newsletter.
Urgent information - Enrolments for 2022
I can not stress enough the demand we have at St Andrew’s regarding places in Kindergarten for 2022. If you have a child that is school ready, I ask you to please submit an application ASAP. I will be finalising enrollments and letters of offer by the end of this term. If you're late submitting your application, you may not be able to enrol your child at this school for next year.
Please inform your friends and family if they intend to enrol their child here next year.
200 Year Mass Celebration
This week I was privileged to attend a Eucharistic celebration at St. Patrick’s Cathedral celebrated by Bishop Vincent Long. The Mass was a celebration of 200 Years of Catholic education in Australia. Our Bishop spoke of the journey Catholic Education has taken since the first school opened in our Diocese in 1820 - St Patrick’s Parramatta. Since then, 80 schools are offering Catholic Education to all in the Diocese of Parramatta. Following Mass each school was gifted with a plaque commemorating our 200 years of Catholic Education. We will have a ceremony in the near future to unveil the plaque to our community.
This was a very special and memorable event.

Compass Parent Portal
Thank you to the parents who have responded to the letter requesting parents to sign up to to our new Parent Portal. We still have 400 registered emails that need to connect to the portal. I understand that some of this total are both mum and dad emails from the one household. I encourage all parents to have at least one parent email active with this portal.
Your child’s Semester One Academic Report will be sent to families via this portal in digital form. We will not be sending home paper copies of the report. Please contact the office if you have having difficulty accessing this portal.
