Be Safe - Be Responsible - Be Respectful - Be Your Best

Wednesday 5 May, 2021 - Term 2 - Week 3 - Issue 13

Principal's Report

Dear Parents and Carers,

Enrolments for 2022

If are intending to enrol your child in Kindergarten next year, we ask you to make contact with our office so we can begin the enrolment process. New families residing within our school’s zoning area are welcome to organise a time to introduce themselves and be shown around the school. We look forward to meeting you!

NAPLAN

Our Year 3 and 5 students will be participating in NAPLAN (National Assessment Program, Literacy and Numeracy). Both year groups will be completing the assessments online on the following dates:

Writing: Tuesday 11 May

Reading: Thursday 13 May

Conventions of Language: Monday 17 May

Numeracy: Tuesday 18 May.

Please do not hesitate to contact myself or your child’s teacher if you would like to discuss your child’s involvement in NAPLAN.

School Voluntary Contributions

School Voluntary Contributions will remain at $35 per child or $60 per family. These payments are used to purchase learning resources and enable us to offer the fantastic range of programs that exist within our school.

Voluntary Contributions can be paid in either a lump sum or smaller payments throughout the year. The preferred payment method is Parent Online Payment (POP) which can be accessed online through the school's website.

Mother’s Day Stall

Our amazing P&C have compiled a beautiful range of gifts for our students to purchase at the Mother’s Day stall tomorrow, Thursday 6 May.

Students can select a gift for $5.00 each. Please ensure students bring their money on the day.

We wish all our mums, nans, step mums and aunties a lovely day on Sunday. Thank you for everything you do!

Have a great week,

Rod White

Principal

OFFICE NEWS

School Photo Day – Change of Date - Uniform Orders

I wish to advise parents that our School Photo Day will be held in Week 8, Wednesday 9 June.

It is hoped that this early notification will assist parents and carers in determining whether they need to place an order with our uniform provider, School Locker and have it delivered well in time for photo day.

If you need to raise an order with School Locker and have not already created an account, an instructional video link can be found in the Newsletter, which is emailed to parents and carers each week or you can access the link by clicking the Parents & Citizens label on the maroon ribbon on the school’s website at https://tomerong-p.schools.nsw.gov.au/.

Students will be required to wear their WINTER uniform for photo day.

Photo order envelopes will be sent home with students later in the term and more information regarding photo day will be published in our weekly newsletter.

Thank you

Marg Blair

MEET THE KINDIES

Sasha

My name is Sasha and I am 6 years old.

I have a big brother and two dogs named 'Jasper' and 'Lolo'.

At school, I like playing on the green top with my buddy, Mia. In class, I like reading and drawing.

At home, I like playing hide and seek with my brother. I like swimming lessons and I can do a handstand underwater.

When I grow up I would like to be a mum.

INFANTS MINI CROSS COUNTRY CARNIVAL

Students in Kindergarten, Year 1 and under 8's are in full training to prepare for our Mini Cross Country Carnival.

The carnival will be held on Friday 14 May on the school oval, beginning at 2pm. Parents are welcome to attend and cheer on our budding athletes.

Looking forward to a fun afternoon.

Mr Munn and Mrs Dilley

STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE COUNCIL

SRC- Dress Up Day Fundraiser!

The Student Representative Council (SRC) are holding a special fundraiser in Week 5 on Friday 21 May. They have voted for all proceeds of this day to go to the Westmead Children’s Hospital in Sydney.

On this day, students are invited to come dressed up in the theme ‘When I grow up……….’ or ‘Someone who inspires me……’.

Enjoy having some fun dressing up on the day and please bring a gold coin donation to help support this cause.
