No lunch orders this week as school finishes at 1:30pm
Dear parents and carers,
Last night we had our graduation celebration for the Year Six class of 2021. It was a wonderful celebration of the students and their time at Macedon Primary School. I thoroughly enjoyed the presentation and hearing all about what our graduate’s hopes, and dreams for their future. This group is bursting with personality, aspirations and fun. I wish them all the very best and encourage them to dream big, work hard and be kind.
At this time of the year we also say farewell to many families for the last time. I would like to thank these families for their support and wish them all the very best in the future. We will miss you all and you are always welcome to drop in a say g’day.
Allen, Bohan, Bonello, Eckley, Crawshaw, Dorhout-Mees, Durham-Ashdown, Enge, Eshuys, Hall, Mishima, Hardy, Hansford, Hehir, Hopwood, Iddles, Moait, Yates, Morley, Pierce, Porter, Rocard, Rogers, Royal, Scott, Sherwood, Stone, Swain, Vernon.
It is with sadness that we also farewell Karlisa Smy and Seraphim Kyprianou at the end of he year.
Karlisa started with us as an educational support staff member mid-year this year and has had an incredibly positive impact on the class and student she has worked with in a short time. I wish Karlisa all the very best with her role in 2022 and say farewell from Macedon PS.
Seraphim Kyprianou is also leaving us at the end of the year. Seraphim has also had a positive impact on his class and as a member of the school leadership team in 2021. Seraphim has been appointed as the principal of Tallarook PS. Seraphim will be missed here and I am confident he will make a great principal and wish him all the very best. We currently have a position advertised for Seraphim’s replacement which will be settled before the academic year begins in 2022.
Today is Carloyn Pain’s last day at Macedon PS. We would like to thank Carolyn for her contributions to Macedon PS as a parent and staff member. Carolyn has been affiliated with the school for 22 years. All the very best Carolyn.
The final transition morning will occur tomorrow. The students will meet their 2022 classroom teacher and classmates between 9am and 11am. This is an important final step in our transition process. Each new year brings change and further opportunity. Change is a normal and inevitable part of everyday living and when it is framed with a positive and growth mindset your child is supported to navigate these developmental milestones. Transition, better described as a process of getting used to change, provides your child with huge opportunities for personal, emotion and social growth. It is something that I encourage you to embrace as a learning opportunity for your child.
Have a safe and Happy holiday
I hope to see you all at our outdoor final assembly on the basketball court at 12:30pm Friday. The students will be dismissed at 1:30pm on Friday. If I don’t happen to see you before the end of the week, I wish you all a safe, happy and restful Christmas break. Merry Christmas.
Kind regards and Sampai jumpa (until next time)
