What an exciting jam packed Principal’s report to be sharing.
On Monday our school welcomed special guest representatives from the Indonesian Embassy in Canberra including Pak Mohammad, the Deputy Chief of Mission. Our students performed at a special assembly and the Embassy members were impressed with our student’s level of confidence and ability to share their Indonesian language expertise. We are the only Indonesian Bilingual Primary school in Australia and the Embassy visit strengthens our relationship, enhances genuine connection to Indonesia and fosters a bright and culturally authentic future focus. This valued Embassy partnership and collaboration with Scotts Head Public School links us together and the affiliation feels like the Embassy is part of our happy attested school community.
Speaking of community what a spectacular demonstration of Indonesian arts and culture that were displayed on Sunday at the ASYIK Festival in Scotts Head. An amazing outcome, congratulations to all our students who dedicatedly rehearsed and courageously performed to make it so successful. A wonderful day and way to celebrate, taste, hear, see, connect and rejoice the diversity of Indonesia in our backyard. Bu Alfira and Pak Mur were outstanding in their vision, organisation and successful running of the ASYIK festival. To say thank you to all the volunteers who helped in so many ways they are holding an Indonesian meal in the Scotts Head Reserve from 4pm on Friday 4 June.
So much happens within a school day and “every day matters” for students to continuously make progress with their learning and keep momentum across subject areas. At Scotts Head Public School we value the positive partnership we have with families and continue to have high expectations of students attending school 95% of the time. Statistically 95% attendance allows educators to have the greatest positive impact on student learning outcomes. Our student’s education is an ongoing partnership with families, together with teamwork and mutual value for education we will help strengthen our kid’s pathway to success.
Another excellent community initiative is the “Guiding Grans” group who are able to support students across all the schools within the Nambucca Valley contributing specialised packs of student essentials for families who need support. The Guiding Grans will continue to support our school next term and this term have very kindly donated these amazing books for our school library.
As a school community students feel included when they wear a school uniform. It promotes a sense of belonging and creates a positive identity for the school. Students, teachers, parents and carers as well as our local community helped develop our school uniform. Well done to those students who after a friendly reminder have again begun wearing full school uniform. The school has a big stock of uniforms especially jumpers if you need to upgrade or upsize, there is always support available for the purchase of uniforms. Scotts Head School – Public and Proud.
Outstanding “Whole school in one fantastic golf day” last Friday. The 3 professional coaches were engaging, enthusiastic and provided fast moving skill based golfing activities for all students. It was wonderful to watch the classes in action as they swung, chipped, drove long range and used their hand eye coordination to develop the physical skills utilised in golf. Thanks to the Australian Government initiative “Sporting Schools” which is funding we can access each term for additional sporting activities.
