Holy Trinity Primary Granville

Term 4 Week 4 - 29th October 2021

From the Leadership Team

Philip Mahony | Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,

It was great to welcome back all the students to Holy Trinity last Monday. They have all settled back into the school routine and enjoying their classroom lessons. Again thank you parents for your extraordinary effort in supporting the remote learning. Many of the students have maintained their learning progress, due to the planning and work of the teachers and the support from home.

The children will remain with the stage during the day and will not mix with the other stages.  At present the children go straight to their classroom when they arrive and will only be allowed to play with their classmates and stage. The canteen is open and we encourage that you order your child's recess and lunch, so we can arrange to have them delivered from the canteen to your child's classroom. We encourage students to wear a face mask, which needs to be supplied by families.

After trailing our afternoon dismissal this week, we will continue to have parents enter through the Randle Street gate and exit out the Grimwood Street gate. The infants children can be picked up from 3:00 pm, then Years 3 and 4 children from 3:05 pm and Years 5 and 6 at 3:10 pm. If you need to wait for your older children, please wait on the silver seats.

School Leadership Update:

Mr Mark Galea has been appointed Acting Assistant Principal at St Bernadette’s Primary School, Lalor Park for 2022. The appointment will commence this year on Thursday 18th November. This is a great opportunity for Mr Galea to share his expertise with another school community and we congratulate him on this appointment. Mr Galea’s last day for this year at Holy Trinity will be Tuesday 9th November. The process for recruitment of an Acting Religious Education Coordinator for Holy Trinity will commence immediately.

Westconnex:

We acknowledge the contribution from Westconnex for a grant of $8000. We have purchased  Robotics for our Science and Technology Programs. We appreciate the support from Westconnex with the assistance of resources for Holy Trinity.

World Teachers Day:

Today is World Teachers Day. It is a chance to say thank you to all the teachers who have made an impact on our lives. We are blessed at Holy Trinity to have a wonderful group of dedicated educators who go over and above to support your children's learning. On behalf of the school community, a huge thank you to all the teachers and enjoy World Teachers Day.

Warm regards,

Phil Mahony

Jason Fisher | Assistant Principal

Welcome back to all the students

All grades have now returned to school. The children came back quite settled and straight back into their learning. The children may be tired as the school routines are different to home learning routines. To support the school can all parents and carers set an earlier bedtime until the children adjust to being back at school.

School Photos

Due to COVID 19 the School Photo company has been either closed or working with a skeleton staff. We have been advised that the school photos will be arriving in about 2 - 3 weeks. Sorry for the wait and we thank you for your patience.

Parent/School communication

As both the school and parents/carers work together to provide the best education for the children, it is important that there are open lines of communication. If parents and carers have a concern or query please do not hesitate to contact the school so we can work together for a desired outcome.

Arriving on time

It is essential that all children arrive at school on time (9.00am). Lessons start straight away and it can be very disruptive when children arrive late. It is also hard for the child who arrives late as they can often feel lost because they do not know what to do and the rest of the class is busy working. Thank you for the support with this issue.

The Dismissal Procedure

Due to COVID 19 the students have to stay with their cohort as best they can. This also needs to happen at dismissal time. To help with this, the children in Kinder - Year 2 will be coming out for dismissal at 3.00, Years 3 -4 will come out at 3.05 and Years 5 - 6 will come out at the normal time for dismissal at 3.10. Parents and Carers are asked to stay behind the witches hats and the children will come to you. Once the children are collected can you please leave the school grounds as soon as possible. If you are collecting children from multiple year groups please wait on the silver seats near the hall.

  • eating well
  • staying connected

There are a range of tiles you can choose to download including some which have been translated into other languages. We hope the practical tips and information are helpful for your families at this time.

Please contact WSLHD-MunchAndMove@health.nsw.gov.au if you have any questions about the toolkit.
