Our P&C run our amazing tuckshop each week, provide financial support for school projects and walk alongside school staff to ensure Beaudesert State School is the school of choice in our local area. Thank you to our P&C team. There is so much that we appreciate about you!
All parents and community members are welcome to join the P&C and we would love to see you. Our next meeting is on Thursday 20th May from 6:00pm (Asbestos training) and 6:30pm (General meeting). We meet in the A Block staffroom that is best accessed via Tina Street.
Fire Education for Year 1 and 2 – Monday 24th May
Year 1 and 2 will be participating in annual Fire Safety lessons on Monday 24th May. I’m sure they will have some great information to share with families at the end of the day.
ThinkYKnow cyber safety lessons for Years 5 and 6
It is important that Beaudesert students know how to keep themselves safe online. On Thursday 13th May students in Year 5 and 6 will be working with our Adopt a Cop, Senior Constable Noel Kerger from Beaudesert Police, in the ThinkYKnow program. Parents and carers are welcome to attend the session from 2:10pm – 2:50pm in the hall. Afterwards Senior Constable Kerger will be available to speak with parents. Alternatively, you may like to attend our parent only session which is to be confirmed. This will be a fantastic opportunity for you to learn more about young people and the online environment, and how you can help them to be safe and responsible users of technology.
ThinkYKnow Australia is an evidence-based education program delivered nationally to prevent online child sexual exploitation and is a partnership between the Australian Federal Police, Microsoft Australia, Datacom and the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. The program is delivered in collaboration with policing partners New South Wales Police Force, Northern Territory Police, Queensland Police, South Australia Police, Tasmania Police, Western Australia Police, as well as Neighbourhood Watch Australasia.
The presentation is pro technology and addresses topics including self-generated online sexual exploitation material, online grooming, image-based abuse, sexual extortion and encourages help seeking behaviour. Most importantly, it is delivered in age appropriate language and detail.
For more information, you can visit www.thinkuknow.org.au or contact 5540 1111.
Please note if you don't want your child to take part in these lessons please advise the school office.
