2021 - Term 3 Week 10

Acknowledgement of Country

We would like to acknowledge Goulburn as an important meeting place that was inhabited, at first contact with Europeans, by the Gundungurra and Ngunawal people who are the traditional custodians of this land. We would like to pay respect to Elders both past, present and future, also extending that respect to other Aboriginal people present today on the land in which we meet, work and live.

News from the South

Hello Southy Families,

This is the last newsletter for Term 3. We understand that the past 5 weeks have been very challenging for everyone. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our parents, carers and families for their continued support of the students. During lock down we have seen many creative ways of teaching and learning and the students have adapted very well. This comes from the support they have been provided at home. So once again Thank You !

It was announced on Thursday 9th September that Goulburn Mulwaree LGA would not be released from restrictions. Learning from home will continue for students at Goulburn South till further information is provided by the Premiers office, NSW Health and the Department of Education.

Have a safe and happy break.

Library News

I hope everyone is enjoying Mrs Mead’s Storytime each week. I am certainly enjoying sharing some great stories with you. Unfortunately, due to the extended lock down, our annual Book Fair and Book Parade will not go ahead this year.

However, do not be too disappointed. We will have a Bookish Mufti Day instead when we return to face-to-face learning. Students can dress up as anything ‘bookish’ for the day giving everyone an opportunity to wear that costume you had in mind for Book Week.

Watch this space for further details about our “Bookish Mufti Day”

Happy reading everyone. Looking forward to seeing you all soon.

3/6M - 3/6CB - 5/6F

3-6M, 3-6CB and 5/6F have been all working hard during lock down and their teachers would like to acknowledge their hard work and determination. This is a new experience for everyone and we are so proud of the work you have produced.
