I cannot express how proud I was on Saturday evening, sitting in the audience at the Civic Centre for the Perfect Light Film Festival, when 3 of our 2020 films were featured in the program – Mr Bezzina’s Cool Class, North’s Got Talent and Lego ( Parts 1,2,3 ) To witness a room full of people applauding and appreciating our school’s films really made my heart sing. YLBs!!!
Term 1 is quickly closing in with a big focus this week on our Athletics Carnival on Tuesday and Wednesday and the expectation our Strategic Improvement Plan 2021-2024 will be ready to publish.

The staff and students in the K-2 classes would like to invite you to our Easter Assembly and Easter Hat Parade. The Parade will be held on Thursday 1st April 2021 starting at 2.30 pm under the COLA.
Students in Years 3 to 6 who would like to make a hat will also have the opportunity to parade.
Parents will be able to attend the parade, which is great news. That said, there are still some limitations. Parents will need to check/sign in when arriving at the school and sit in family groups, maintaining social distancing around the perimeter of the COLA.
COVID-19 updated advice
The department of Education has released updated COVID-19 guidelines to reflect easing restrictions across the state on the advice of NSW Health.
NSW Health has agreed to the following activities resuming across all schools in NSW:
- Parents and carers are able to enter school grounds but should continue to follow COVID-safe practices, including checking in via the QR code at gates, signing in at front office and social distancing between adults of 1.5 metres.
- Parents and carers can attend school sporting events. School sporting events should align with requirements for community sporting competitions and training activities in NSW.
- There are no recommended limits on singing groups in schools, including for in-class educational activities such as repetition, chanting, recitation, or singing activities. Five metres is recommended between a group of performing singers and other people, including the audience and conductor, where practicable.
- Dancing activities – including dance classes, formals and social events – can proceed, but organisers should comply with any venue restrictions.
Raising Responsibility
One thing that has seen a huge growth in is the number of our kids who are riding their bikes and scooters to school, which is great to see. The agreement and expectation is that as soon as they enter the school they get off and walk their bike or scooter to the bike racks. It is the families’ responsibility to ensure their child/ren are wearing their stack hats on their heads not their handle bars.
