2020 PLANNING

Planning for 2020 is well and truly underway! Over this last term the leadership team  have been particularly busy welcoming our new families, touring and enrolling nearly 75 students! With these predicted numbers we are excited to be adding another class next year. In 2020 we will have 14 mainstream classes and 2 special options classes with the class composition as follows...

2 Reception classes, 1x Reception/Year1, 2x Year 1, 1x Year 2, 1 Junior Special class R-2, 2x Year 2/3,   1x Year 3, 3x Year 4/5, 2x Year 6/7,  and Primary Special Class Year 3-7.

I am now in the process of working with Department for Education staffing officers to secure teaching and support staff across the school.

LEARNING WITH DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES

Students and families  will be informed of class placement's via End of Year written reports. Students will also visit their new learning spaces in week 9 of this term.

Earlier this year the Digital Technologies Committee proposed the introduction of BYO one to one devices in our primary classes and invited families feedback. Staff have been discussing how this proposal will look in classes. During Term 1 and 2 our primary classes will have access to school purchased laptops, teachers will monitor and adjust their pedagogy to have a more integrated approach to digital technology. More information about how we use technology and the introduction of 1:1 devices will be provided later in 2020.

Early Years students Holly, Javish and Mia had fun stacking up some lightweight building bricks, foam rocks and see-through plastic blocks. We also received a bamboo construction set that will allow students to create large ball or water runs.
