Dear Parents & Guardians
Welcome back to Term 4. I am hoping you found time to relax and spend quality time with your children (not remote learning related). Further information regarding the staged return of students will be sent out next week as details are confirmed. We are all looking forward to a return to face to face teaching over the next month.
During these times, the opportunities to gather as a school community are a challenge. Therefore we would like to invite all families to join us in an Open Prayer Session on Monday 11th October at 7:00pm. There is no pressure or expectation. If you choose to just listen along, you are more than welcome. The ZOOM session will only take 15 -20 mins. We will have the opportunity to “Gather, Listen and Reflect”.
The ZOOM invitation will be sent via SeeSaw to families.
School Hats: During Term 4, school hats must be worn at recess, lunch and all outside activities. This is in line with our SunSmart policy. If students do not have a hat they will need to stay under the veranda. Hats can be purchased online from the uniform shop.
Socktober: Catholic Social Teaching helps us to show our understanding of poverty (local and globally) to help others. During the Pandemic, unfortunately those around the world who are vulnerable are further challenged by these times. During Socktober, we use this time to learn more about others in need, and where possible, donate money to support different charities. During Term 4, we will be taking donations and holding a Sock Day- to raise money. Further details to follow.
Fee Concessions: Many in our school community continue to experience financial pressures as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing lockdowns and we are committed to supporting those families through our School Fee Concession programs. Fee payers requesting consideration for fee relief should contact either myself or Nancy Rintoule to discuss their school fee obligations.
May I also remind those who have recently qualified for a Centrelink Concession Card to contact the school to determine eligibility for a Category One Centrelink Concession Card Concession.
St John’s 2022 Foundations Transition Program: Unfortunately we are unable to conduct our planned onsite sessions. Families will receive a letter next week confirming arrangements for small group sessions via ZOOM meets.
Operoo requests for Onsite Schooling - Please note the following in relation to this:
Requests for onsite schooling are to be submitted each week by no later than 10am Sunday via the Operoo form provided, the forms opens every Friday morning.
Work permits - current work permits for all parents are required to be uploaded each week via Operoo when requesting onsite.
If your child is booked for onsite and you no longer require this please let us know at your earliest convenience via Skoolbag submission, phone call or email to the office.
Regards
