Term 3 Week 2: Monday 19th July 2021

Acting Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

We hope you are all coping with the ever-changing challenges we are all experiencing. Our prayers and thoughts are with you all.

Last week saw a successful transition to Online Learning. Congratulations to our students, parents and teachers for allowing this to run so smoothly.

We will of course continue to provide our students with engaging and meaningful learning. We appreciate that some students may not be able to complete all tasks during the school day and that often parents are able to support their children outside of these hours, we are truly grateful for the assistance you are providing during home learning. Our teachers will continue to provide feedback and assistance and answer any questions received outside of side hours during school hours. As previously communicated, please contact the school if your child requires any assistance in participating in the activities.

We will be asking for parent feedback to assist us in ensuring the best possible experience for all involved. We thank you for all of your support as we work together to do our best for our wonderful community. We will continue to update you as information comes to hand.

Keep safe and thank you for all you are doing for your children.

Postponement of Zone & Diocesan Athletics Carnivals due to COVID-19 restrictions

The lockdown restrictions for Greater Sydney mean that there is no community/school sport in the Greater Sydney area during this time.

The extended lockdown and the ever-changing COVID-19 situation have meant that the Zone and Parramatta Diocesan Athletics Carnival has been postponed indefinitely.

Blacktown Zone Athletic Carnival was originally scheduled for Tuesday 10th August 2021.

We will continue to provide updates as relevant information comes to hand, especially from our governing bodies Catholic Schools NSW Sport and the NSW School Sports Unit.

The CEDP Sports team is considering how an Athletics pathway opportunity can be provided in the future when COVID-19 restrictions are at a level where interschool sports activities can recommence.

Thank you for your understanding,

Miss Rowena Benjamin

  • NSWPSSA Boys Football

  • NSWCPS Rugby 10 A Side Knockout

 Cancelled events in Term 3

  • NSWCCC Boys Hockey Championships  (Week 4)

  • NSWCCC Netball Championships  (Week 5)

In line with the Premier’s announcement regarding the extension of COVID-19 restrictions for Greater Sydney, the NSWCPS Golf Tournament on Monday 26 July @ Blackheath; NSWPSSA Boys Football 27 – 29 July @ Griffith; NSWCPS Rugby 10 Aside Knockout Finals 9 August @ Hunters Hill  have been postponed.

In addition, CSNSW Sport has cancelled the following events – NSWCCC Boys Hockey Championships – Tuesday, 3 August @ Newcastle; NSWCCC Netball Championships – Tuesday, 10 August @ Penrith. CSNSW Sport will organise refunds for the schools who have paid team registrations.

With the current COVID-19 restrictions for Greater Sydney, we are conscious that these events require travel for a number of families and staff therefore wish to provide as much notice as possible.

CSNSW Sport and the School Sport Unit will investigate dates and venues with a view to running the pathway events later in the year and will provide regular updates for students, families, staff and schools.

Parents, team officials and convenors will be informed by notification this afternoon. The CSNSW Sport portal has been updated and posts will be released on our social media channels. Please distribute to your network where you feel necessary.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

 Kind Regards,

 The Team from CSNSW Sport
