This week in Cooinda, we have been exploring analog and digital time. We named and ordered months and seasons, described the duration of events, used a calendar to calculate the number of months, weeks or days until an upcoming event and learned to read o'clock and half past time. We consolidated our understanding and practised our time reading skills by playing a game of time bingo.
Welcome back to Term 3. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Jamberoo Public School community for the manner in which they have faced the COVID-19 situation, both over the holidays and as Term 3 has begun. I realise that all students, teachers and many parents were in lock down until Monday of week 2 of the holidays because we had our Athletics Carnival in the Shellharbour LGA. Thank you all for staying at home and doing the right thing to keep Jamberoo COVID free.
I am also very aware that many of our school community live in the Shellharbour LGA and are still on a stay at home order. I again would like to thank you for doing the right thing. I know that the children are very happy to be at school, where they can run and play and enjoy not feeling locked in.
We are always aware that we are fortunate to be able to come to school, but on the other hand we need to be prepared if we have to start working from home. Please make sure that you have Class Dojo. If your child is in years 3-6, please start asking them about google classroom. Please also let us know if your household, would struggle with a device for your child to work off? These are very uncertain times and less stress is caused by being prepared. Teachers may be testing out some online platforms with your child at the moment. This is not an indication that we are going online, just a test for preparedness.

This web page is the most up-to-date Department of Education Covid advice for families. Please check it regularly. I will also do my best to keep everyone up-to-date with the school's restrictions. Thank you for your understanding.
A quick reminder that no visitors should enter school grounds. If you have an appointment please come directly to the office, wearing a mask.
We are very much hoping that we will be out of these restrictions by August 25, so that we can have our Grandparents Day, Book Week and Book Character parade. We have released a save the date for this as it is easier for us to cancel events then to scheduled them at a late date. We wanted to give our families as much notice as possible to get our Grandparents here.
This week is the 100th Day of learning for our students. Over the past 100 days all our students have learnt new things and gave grown in friendships and the way in which they care for themselves, care for others and care for this place. Some classes have celebrated 100 days of learning this week and I would like to congratulate all of the students on their growth over the past 100 days.
