Chisholm Need to Know

CAROLINE CHISHOLM COLLEGE

Happy Holidays!
The staff of Caroline Chisholm wish all of our students a safe and happy school holiday break. For many students, there will be an opportunity to catch up on school work, especially for our Year 12s who are approaching their Trial HSC.

Staff Spiritual Formation Day
On 25 June, the College teachers and support staff engaged with our Diocesan Theologian, Anthony Maher, to reflect on how we can flourish through grace, by being open to the many ways that God works in our lives. Our professional learning days are so important for us to sustain the excellent faith and learning culture at Caroline Chisholm College. One staff member reflected “God is present in humanity, nature, the world, the universe as we know it and beyond.  What I can see and can’t see.   I try to find God in everyone I meet.  Even when I feel angry or let down, that is probably God trying to teach me something and develop something beautiful in me.  I am here to learn and become a better person.  I just need to open my eyes and God is everywhere, in everything.”

We hope this is your experience, too.

Duke of Edinburgh Award
The College is exploring the possibility of running The Duke of Edinburgh Award. This is a youth development program, empowering all young Australians aged 14-24 to explore their full potential and find their purpose, passion and place in the world. To achieve an Award, each young person must learn a skill, improve their physical well being, volunteer in their community and experience a team adventure in a new environment. All Participants are supported by a network of adult Award Leaders, Assessors, and Supervisors.

Early next term we will invite expressions of interest from students and their families to gauge whether this may be a viable opportunity for our College to offer. You can read more about the Award here.
