School Representative Council

Congratulations to all of our new 2021 SRC members who have taken up their responsibilities and have received their badges at a special assembly that was held on Monday 22nd February. It was a special time to see our younger students who have also been invited this year to represent their class and our school.

School Improvement Plan

We are all in the process of finalising the 2021-2024 School Improvement Plan.  Collaboratively as a staff we have worked to formulate a draft copy that will soon be ready for your input and further input from students.

The three Strategic Directions are:

1.  Student Growth and Attainment

2.  Wellbeing and Engagement

3.  Reflective Practices and Collaboration

Attendance

Over the past fortnight, our attendance rate is slightly improving but we need to continue its focus.  We have a school goal for our students to reach attendance of  90% or more.

Attendance is very much a part of The New School Plan.

If at any time you need assistance in sending your child to school, please arrange to speak to myself, a school executive or your Aboriginal Education Officer – Grace Barton or any other member of staff. We are always here to support you and your family

 Meet Your Child’s Teacher

By now, your child's teacher should have made contact by phone to introduce themselves and let you know how your child is settling in.  If you wish to speak further with the teacher please contact the office to organise an appointment or return phone call.

 Art Works/Murals

As you can see when you walk through the main gate, we have employed an artist to ‘Brighten’ up the entry into the school!   The students will be working  Mr Trevor MacDonald to paint murals outside of the classroom walls with students.

New Logos and digital Sign

Through community consultation, the school has developed a new logo for all stationary and a new digital sign.  We wanted to give our school a fresh and uplifting new look.

PSSA Sport has started

Thank you to Ms Stafford and all staff who have organised teams to attend our local PSSA Sport Competition. Good luck to all of our teams competing.

We are safe when we wear a hat

What does it mean to be sun safe?

·     Being sun safe means we understand that the sun can be harmful and a hat is a sensible way of protecting ourselves

·     Being sun safe means we develop the safe habit of wearing a hat at all times when outdoors regardless of how hot it is

·     Being sun safe means we make safe decisions about where to play, how to stay cool and how to make safe, healthy and protective choices.

Bring your water bottle to school

With Summer fast approaching and Covid restrictions still in place, students are asked to bring a water bottle to school as bubblers are not available to drink from. Students will be able to refill their bottle only during the day.

Please respond to the message if your child is absent or late for school

Automated Attendance SMS system

Don’t forget if you receive an SMS about your child being absent from school please reply to the message with the reason your child is away or their absence will be marked as unjustfied.

It is vital that the school has your up-to-date mobile and email details.
