From the Deputy Principal

It has been a busy and fun time for students in the last week of school. They enjoyed their class picnics and the opportunity for some fun and special activities during the last week.

Thanks to Amy Brewster and helpers for sorting and distributing the Bookclub orders in such a short time after the order arrived Wednesday afternoon. Students have eagerly been awaiting for them to arrive and I know will be enjoying reading their books over the break. Most of the order arrived, however, we are still expecting a few more boxes. Apologies if your child's order does not get sent home. It will be distributed in the new year.

A reminder that students will continue to have access to the online reading program 'Reading Eggs' and to 'Mathletics' over the break.

Reports and folios were distributed on Thursday, the last day of term.

I would like to take the opportunity to wish everyone a safe and happy Christmas and to thank the parents and wantoks of LIS for all of their effort and support this year.

Ms Langusch

Playground renovation and upgrade

Students will be very excited to hear that over the holiday break, the playground near the basketball court is going to be renovated and extended. Thanks to John and Rose Boreham (and helpers) for the many hours spent planning and designing the new playground. Also, thanks must go to Brian Voss and his team from Newcrest for the work with installation.

We look forward to see the changes when we return in the New Year and the children will be very excited to have new playground components to play on.
