COVID-19 Update
The Department of Education has released its Term 1 Operating Guidelines, as thankfully things have continued to ease. We ask that all students that experience cold and flu like symptoms to remain at home until symptom free. We also ask that any student that is kept home for these reasons, to be covid-19 tested. This process has not changed since 2020.
Parents are now able to enter the school grounds if you have a purpose for being on school grounds. There will be a QR code that will be at school entrances, that you will be able to use. This process is similar to when you are out and about at various locations in the city. These will be placed up in the coming weeks. Please also note that you will also be asked to complete an 'External Visitor to School Site' Form, via either SkoolBag or physical form in the school office.
School activities in the regional area are now also able to continue.
Please note that if operating guidelines change, we will inform you via SkoolBag and Facebook.
TACO Tuesday
A huge thank you to all those that purchased a taco from our wonderful Year 6 students. They had an amazing time preparing and cooking the tacos. They sold so many tacos and raised lots of money. This will go towards their end of year fund programs. Our current school leaders have several ideas and are keen to do some great things this year. Stay tuned for more amazing fun as it develops throughout the school year.
Year 3-6 Camp
Thank you to all members of the school community that completed the expression of interest for our proposed Yr 3-6 School Camp to The Great Aussie Bush Camp at Kincumber on the Central Coast. However, since the survey, we have been presented with the opportunity to complete our 2021 camp with the students of Michelago PS. Our 2021 School Camp will now be to Berry Sport and Recreation Camp. Our camp will now be held during the final week of Term 3, from Monday 13 September to Wednesday 15 September. This shared opportunity will be an amazing way for our students to meet other students of similar age and it will also be a great way to help reduce camp costs. More information will follow in the coming weeks.
The Athletics Carnival
Our 2021 School Athletics Carnival is just around the corner. Keep Thursday 4 March free, so you can come and be apart of this amazing experience. This will probably be our last opportunity to all get together before the colder weather returns. We will be holding our annual parent race for those who would like to obtain the highly sought after prize of 'The Captain's Cup'.
Swimming Program
Our School Swimming Program has commenced and will continue daily to the end of Week 5, Friday 26 February. Students have made huge progress this session from the program running in Term 4 to now. The teachers are impressed with the commitment shown by all students at the school. The purpose of this program is to focus on Water Awareness and Water Safety Skills. Our students have continued to progress since 2020 and we look forward to ensuring our students remain water wise.
Clean Up Australia
Clean up Australia Day is coming up during the first weekend in March. We will be cleaning up our school on Friday 5 March. Students from K-2 will focus on the inside of the school, whilst students in Yr 3-6 will walk around the outside of the school grounds and clean up the school oval. The school has enough gloves for all students during the clean up program.
Library Borrowing
Students will be able to borrow books once again from the school library. Library lessons will be a little different to 2020. This year students will be borrowing from the library during some of their normal classroom learning programs. We hope to share their borrowing day and times via Facebook and SkoolBag. These times may change from week to week, depending on what learning programs are taking place each week.
