Dear Parents & Guardians
The Last Day of Term 3 is Friday 17th September. Please note that dismissal will be at 2:10pm, not the usual 3:10pm
Remote Learning: The SeeSaw activities for next week will be more fun based as we finish off what has been a challenging Term. I hope you have enjoyed welcoming your ‘Flat Teachers’ into your homes. We can’t wait to see what they get up to. There will also be some special activities for the Gr3/4s who would have been on camp around this time. Di will be holding another cooking lesson on Tuesday. YUM!
We would also like to congratulate you all for the dedication and patience you have shown towards supporting your children with home learning throughout the term. We are unsure of what Term 4 will look like, and we ask that you watch out for emails and messages being sent home as information comes to hand over the term break.
Fee Concessions: Many in our school community continue to face financial impacts as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. We are committed to supporting families experiencing financial challenges through our School Fee Concession programs, and encourage any parent/carer/guardian experiencing difficulties to contact us regarding fee assistance. Please contact Nancy in the office or myself to explore confidential financial support arrangements or to obtain further information.
May I also remind those who have recently qualified for a Centrelink Concession Card to contact the school to determine eligibility for a Category One Centrelink Concession Card Concession.
NAPLAN: Students in Years 3 and 5 who participated in this year’s NAPLAN testing will each receive an individual report from ACARA (Australian Curriculum, Assessment and reporting Authority). We aim to mail these out to families as soon as practicable. NAPLAN assessments are based on a testing set on a particular day, therefore it is important that this information is considered alongside all other student achievement data provided by the school throughout the whole year.
Child safety Week is a time for us all to remember to focus on the safety and wellbeing of the children in our lives, whether they be in our family, in our classrooms, or in our community. Ensuring we have child safe communities goes to the heart of our faith and our core purpose. We must listen to our young people and work together to prevent and respond to child abuse in all its forms. I invite you to watch a video message from our Bishop, Greg Bennet. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kWTqj_ANcfU

Whole School Musical: Due to uncertainty around restrictions and the lack of time students have/will have to rehearse it has been necessary to again cancel our Whole School Musical. This will be rescheduled to 2022. We are hopeful of being able to have an end of year concert in a format that fits with restrictions at the time. We will advise further as we are able.
General notes in relation to Remote/Onsite Schooling:
Remote schooling will continue under the current arrangements until the Victorian Government advises that children will return to school.
Requests for onsite schooling are to be submitted each week via the Operoo form provided. This form opens every Friday and closes at 10am every Sunday - please ensure you make your booking via the form before the closing time.
If your child is booked for onsite and you no longer require this please let us know at your earliest convenience via phone call or email to the office, or, Skoolbag submission.
Work permits are required to be uploaded each week via Operoo when requesting onsite. Please ensure your permits cover the week you are requesting.
A reminder that children of working parents are only permitted to attend onsite for the days/times that all parents are working outside of the home.
Regards
Chris Dortmans, Principal
