From the Principal

Special presentation...

It's always lovely to have ex-Balmain PS students come and visit their 'old stomping ground'...

Sylvie and Laila, who were Year 6 Ministers in 2020, paid us a special visit at our Friday morning awards assembly.

It's a tradition that the Year 6 cohort leave a legacy as they move on to high school, with a Year 6 Farewell Gift to the school.

Although, as we are all aware, COVID-19 played a little havoc with us (and the entire world) last year, this didn't stop our Year 6 students fundraising for their graduation and gift to the school.

The 'Balmain Bazaar', the major student-led fundraising activity, raised an enormous amount of money...part of these funds were used for the gift.

Student voice dictated that new house feathers would be purchased, as well as a Balmain Public School feather, to be used at all carnivals and events.

Thank you, Year 6 2020, for your very thoughtful gift and legacy to the school...we are grateful!

Volunteers call...

Are you able to volunteer at school?

In keeping in line with the current DoE guidelines, 'Parents and carers are not allowed on school sites or at off-site school events held during school hours except for the following purposes only:

'Parent or carer volunteers required as educational support roles for activities essential to the delivery of the curriculum such as reading groups, music, dance and kitchen garden areas. Schools are required to have scheduled programs in place and remind parents and carers that they must not attend school unless it has been previously arranged.'

If you are able to volunteer your time, please click on the School Volunteers Google Form, which will be used as a data base.

Parent-Teacher meetings - Weeks 6 & 7 (Monday 1 - Friday 12 March)

HAVE YOU BOOKED YOUR MEETING WITH YOUR CHILD'S TEACHER YET?

IF NOT, PLEASE USE LINK BELOW...?

Your child's teacher will be conducting Parent-Teacher meetings, between Monday 1 March - Friday 12 March inclusive. You may wish to have your child involved in this meeting, particularly for the goal-setting aspect.

In line with the current Department of Education advice, meetings will be face-to-face, however, you will need to check-in with the Service NSW COVID-safe QR code, which will be located in the classroom. As you arrive for your meeting, please head straight to your child's class for check-in, rather than the usual procedure of the school office.

It is important to be on time, as there will be back-to-back 10-minute meetings.

If you are unable to attend in person, a phone call can be arranged. This information will be found when you book. If you have chosen a phone call, please ensure the number you supply is correct and have your phone beside you 5 minutes prior to your scheduled time. Please note that your child's teacher may be calling from a private line.

Please click on the link below to book in a date/time:

If you are experiencing difficulties with the link, please log on to www.schoolinterviews.com.au and use the code: vxkmr
