Melrose Park Public School Newsletter

Term 4 Week 11

Presentation Day Assembly

Congratulations to all the boys and girls on their learning achievements for 2021. It was wonderful to be able to recognise every student across the school for their learning efforts and acheivements at our annual Presentation Day assemblies. Thank you to our families who could make it in person to enjoy the assembly.   It was a joyous day and so wonderful to be able to see so many parents in person for the first time in ages throughout the day.

As this is the last newsletter of the  year, I would like to thank the school community for its ongoing support of the school. The staff and I are most grateful to everyone for their kindness and understanding throughout  2021 and look forward to the final bell on Thursday.  Let us all hope for a smoother new year and global calm in 2022.

On behalf of the staff at Melrose Park PS I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very merry festive season, a happy new year and a safe and relaxing holiday.

It's been such a pleasure teaching you this year KA, I feel so honoured to be part of your first year of schooling.

I'm so proud of everything all of you have achieved throughout the year and I've loved watching you grow as people and as learners. Every one of you have shown great resilience and perseverance this year during the learning from home period and the uncertain times of 2021.

Kindergarten P

A message to KP from Miss DiNicola

From the moment you stepped foot into the classroom I knew we were in for a great year. Every day I have been greeted with big smiles from all 15 of you. I have felt so lucky to spend the year with such positive and happy students. I've enjoyed watching you grow in your learning and I've especially enjoyed sharing many giggles with you.

Although we had to spend some time apart, you came back to school ready to learn and ready to succeed. I hope you bring that determination into your future learning years at school.

I would like to say a special thank you to all your parents and carers who have supported us through the challenging times. Your involvement in your chid's learning has made a huge impact. It has been the biggest pleasure to be your first teacher. Good luck for Year 1.

Class 1E

A message to 1E from Mrs Whyntie

1E it has been such a joy to watch you all grow this year. You have courageously challenged yourself in your learning, persevered in learning from home and adapted to being taught by different teachers.

It was wonderful to spend time outdoors in the kitchen garden with you watching you smell, taste and care for the plants. Mrs Price really enjoyed the excursion to the railway museum watching your curiosity grow as you engaged in the activities and asked so many questions. Mrs Cabot loved guiding you in science experiments throughout term 4. It was messy but was fun learning about different mixtures. Ms Mee remembers the fun of music and drama activities on a Friday afternoon.

As you move forward in your learning journey I wish you all every success. I know if you continue to optimistically approach all experiences and learning activities you will succeed. You will be great.

Never forget that you are all superheroes in your own way.

Mrs Whyntie

Class 2 O

A message to 2O from Miss Ko

2021 has been a year unlike any other. We went from learning at school to learning at home and Zoom meetings. Through all these changes, you have shown how resilient and optimistic you are. It’s been an absolute joy to be your teacher this year. I couldn’t be more proud of each and every one of you for all your hard work and success.

Congratulations 2O and enjoy your holiday.

Year 3

A message to 3R from Mr Steel

2021 has been a unique year that has seen our students persevere through new challenges and adapt to different environments. Even though we have had interruptions during the middle of this year, as a class you have shown how you can learn wherever you are, at home or at school. The development of flexibility will help you on your journey to being lifelong learners who can take every opportunity to learn, regardless of the challenges that have been put in your way.

It has been great to see the eagerness you have shown in your learning from Earth and space to multiplication and figurative language. Your thirst for knowledge about the world around us and the different cultures on our planet has been inspiring as well. As you move onto year four, aim to continue growing from strength to strength.  It is with great pleasure that we celebrate the successes of our class this year.

Year 4

A message to 4L from Mrs Spenceley

I am so grateful that I got to teach 4L this year, as I am so very proud of each and every student’s learning journey.

Optimism and perseverance (not to mention the problem solving as we navigated the Covid home learning program together) have filled our Year 4 journey. You are a wonderful, curious group of learners and collaborate so well to teach one another.

Thank you to all the parents and carers for your support, as well as the other Melrose Park staff.

Year 5

A message to 5E from Mr Choi

Year 5, this year has been anything but usual. I am incredibly proud of the effort that you have put into being and becoming respectful, responsible learners. We have faced many challenges, some disappointments, but throughout the year you have all inspired me with your resilience and determination.

As you head into Year 6, I hope that you continue to hold yourselves to the high standard that you have set for yourselves, and I wish you all the best as you lead the school as Stage 3 students.

Congratulations all, and enjoy your break.

Year 6

A message to 6M  from Mrs O'Neill and Mr Brennen

6M, you are such a wonderful class - a true group of respectful, responsible learners. Mr Brennen and I feel so blessed to have taught you this year.

We have enjoyed lots of fun activities with camp definitely a highlight! It may have taken us 3 times to get there but they say good things come to those who wait!

This year has provided many opportunities for you to display your resilience, maturity and caring natures and it is an honour to have watched you grow. You have demonstrated enthusiasm and responsibility in your planning, organisation and running of the mini fete, using problem solving skills to overcome any challenges.

Continue to use the learner qualities as you transition to high school and know that we believe in you and wish you every success. Remember to choose kindness and always look on the bright side of life.

Congratulations on your graduation, Yr 6.

With thanks
