Message from the Principal

 Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back!

I say these words term after term, but its effect are much greater with our return to school, 2021.

As a school community, we have missed each other and the support we give our students and parents/caregivers. We want to thank you for the enormous job you have done in teaching your children. This has all been necessary to keep us all safe and we must continue to do so.

We are aware many of you have experienced the effects of COVID 19 and our thoughts are with you all.

I sincerely hope that during the holidays you were able to find time and space to relax and do things that you enjoy after such a hectic term of home learning.

This term we are implementing a staggered return for students as advised by the Department of Education to ensure the health and wellbeing of all.

There will be lots of questions that need to be answered and we will work through them all with you.

A survey was sent out today via the website and Facebook asking what your needs are when we return to school. Please voice any concerns you may have. We are all working around the clock to get everything ready for your child’s return.

The Current Plan: (revised a number of times)

  • Preschool Kindergarten and Year 1 will commence in Week 3 Mon 18th October
  • All remaining classes Week 4 Monday 25th October

During the transition of our students back to school there will be adjustments that will need to be made. School routines will need to be re- established, student learning from school protocols implemented while all the time supporting our students along the way.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we all work together to make the long-awaited return to school a memorable and exciting time for all.

More information will be given as it comes to light.

Murals

We have employed an artist to brighten up our school with some wonderful murals around the school. We hope our students enjoy their uplifting effect. Dalmari has finished the other wall in the new outdoor learning centre.

How exciting.

Yours in Education

It has been a Term like no other and I am so proud of all my KL friends for all their hard work and effort to continue their learning at home. We are safe when we wear a hat

What does it mean to be sun safe?

·     Being sun safe means we understand that the sun can be harmful and a hat is a sensible way of protecting ourselves

·     Being sun safe means we develop the safe habit of wearing a hat at all times when outdoors regardless of how hot it is

·     Being sun safe means we make safe decisions about where to play, how to stay cool and how to make safe, healthy and protective choices.

Bring your water bottle to school

With Covid restrictions still in place, students are asked to bring a water bottle to school everyday. Students will be able to refill their bottle during the day.
