Last week we had a few students with a tummy bug and I reminded students at Assembly to wash their hands after going to the toilet and before they eat food. The school is still being cleaned during the day so we should not be seeing too many viruses around.
The K’s, P’s, 2’s, 5’s and 6’s have all dropped attendance percentages. Year 1 and year 3 students have maintained their attendance percentage and the awesome Year 4 students have gone up a percent. Well done Year 4 students. You are super stars!!
Remember every day counts and you need to be at school higher than 90% of the time or you will be missing important skills and concepts necessary for the following year.
Let’s get those percentages up over 90 again.
Parents, remember to send us notification as to why your child is absent so it can be recorded accurately on our system.
NAPLAN Testing
I am so proud of all the students in Year 3 and Year 5 who sat the NAPLAN tests. You were all very well behaved, respected each other during testing and tried your hardest. Well done everyone. I think the change to using iPads made it easier for you to use and so you were more comfortable and excited to use the iPad. A big thank you to Mr Ayres and Mr Stoneman, for being my Test Administrators and to everyone else, for being respectful during testing and walking quietly around the school.
Remember, NAPLAN is a one off test that only looks at how well you do on the day. Your teacher has a more detailed knowledge of your ability. Hopefully we will receive results soon and parents will be given a pamphlet with your results.
Walk to School Day
Well done to all those students who walked to school last Friday. Walking is a very healthy activity to do and it also helps keep your mind happy too. I hope you liked your special tattoo and had fun walking with your friends and family. Walking to school every day gets you physically and mentally ready for the day.
