From the Principal's desk

Dear Parents/Carers and Friends of Edgeworth Heights PS

We have all had a very busy Term 1. I would like to thank the staff and students for the tremendous effort and hard work they have put in this term and the support from our parents with the changes in COVID restrictions.

Last week we celebrated Harmony Week. Classes identified a country to explore, and activities were then designed for students to learn more about that country. I was very impressed with students’ participation and engagement.  Staff acknowledged the leadership and behaviour of our student leaders with their groups. Thank you to the staff and parents who shared their knowledge and passion about the countries. Miss Fulton and her team worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure resources and activities reflected the wonderful diversity of cultures we have in our school.

I was deeply humbled by the support I was given from the school for my upcoming Trek challenge to raise money for children and teens with disabilities.

This term our amazing and caring students, Aidan and Frank, have taken up the fundraising challenge to support others by shaving their hair for the  leukemia foundation. Great work boys!

Congratulations to the students of EHPS who achieved a special day and had fun with Motiv8 sport. This was in recognition of positive behaviours of students that reinforce our school expectations - Respect, Responsibility and Strive. Thank you to the student reporters for their article in this newsletter.

There will be some staffing changes in Term 2. Individual classes will receive notification if it directly involves them. In the next newsletter, we will be able to share Emma Fulton and Kim McQuillan’s baby news. Next term we welcome Mrs Vanessa Linstrom. Vanessa  was successful in achieving our Early Action for Success Instructional Leader position replacing Kim McQuillan while she is on leave.

Something to look forward to is the installation of our Timber Creations activity stations over the holidays. Part of this is the 2020 Year 6 Present to the school.

Make the most of the awesome moments and have a safe well deserved break.

Mrs Duncan

Welcoming Miss Hervas to EHPS

This year we welcome a new teacher called Miss Hervas. “I

am very excited to teach at Edgeworth Heights Public School,”

Miss Hervas stated. We asked her what she likes best about

our school and she said, “I like how kind and caring all the

students are.” She is EXTREMELY excited for this year!

“I absolutely love dogs,” Miss Hervas said proudly. She has a

Chihuahua called Loui and a Border Collie called Pe pper. She

likes that they make her laugh and keep her company. We are

extremely lucky to have Miss Hervas teaching here!
