PRINCIPAL'S NEWS

Dear Rawlinson Community

It has been an amazing two weeks of activity and success for the students and staff of Rawlinson Primary School.

Last week our fantastic choir, led by Mrs Longbottom, sang with the Massed choir at the Perth Concert Hall.  What an experience it was for these tremendous students who had committed their time, every Thursday morning to practicing their performance.  The buzz that they had afterwards demonstrated the total enjoyment that they experienced.

This week we had our Athletics team head off to Anzac Terrace Primary School for the Interschool event.  I dropped in to see them and watch as they competed and I was super impressed with the older children cheering and encouraging the younger ones, plus everyone’s effort to do their best.  The result was that we showed the other schools that you can be the best and you can win, while showing sportsmanship and team work.  Thank you Mr Pham and other staff who were part of this team for the tremendous effort that you put in before school and during your lunch times to prepare our students.

Term 4 commences with a Student Free Day and the teachers doing Professional Development.  At the conclusion of this day we have General Business on the agenda and as part of that, for the first time, I would like to ask parents if there is anything that they wish us to discuss.  Please send the question or topic to our school email address below or call the front office to let them know the details.

Remember, be prepared for online teaching.  Please follow the information and setup sent out by Mr Ayres last week.

Have a great holiday and enjoy time with your family

Hello Families

A three page letter was sent home with note-takers earlier this week, advising of the 'Rawlinson Primary School Lockdown Procedure' and necessary preparations in case a lockdown was to occur.

Included on the first page is a list of preparations that we would like families to do NOW (e.g. downloading necessary apps) so that if a lockdown was to occur, possibly with little notice, then the transition to 'home learning' would be much smoother.

If your family didn't receive the note, or if it has been misplaced, a copy can be obtained from the office.

Thank you

STUDENT COUNCIL

On Wednesday 15th September, the student councillors attended the City of Wanneroo Youth Services Showcase evening. They, along with seven other schools, presented their community action plan #BetterLives to the audience which included the Mayor and other council dignitaries. Our student councillors did a fantastic job sharing their journey this year which included attending the leadership workshop, planning for the quiz night and being able to donate to Foodbank WA and establish the Buddy Bench program through their fundraising efforts. It was a wonderful experience for our students as they were able to see the work, they had done over the terms, be put into perspective and appreciate the efforts of peers within other school communities.
