Term 1 Week 3: Monday 8th February 2021

Principal's Message

Dear Parents/Caregivers,

With a new year comes new changes and opportunities.

We are now able to introduce our new jersey/jumper which all students will be able to wear.

From today for the next two weeks, you will be able to place your order through the uniform shop QKR app for the new jersey/jumper. Please have your order placed by then in time for you to receive your jersey at the start of Term Two.

The sizing is the same as the current range of uniform items. So we imagine most people will be able to use the current sizes or the next one up for their children. To save you from having to come to the uniform shop, we have sample sizes for the students to try on. Your children can then let you know the sizes for you to place your orders.

Modelling the new jersey are our new school leaders, Levi and Lillian standing in front of our new school amphitheatre!

Response to the quality and design of our new jersey has been overwhelmingly positive. It will be a great addition to our current school uniform.

With appreciation for your ongoing support,

Stephen Dowd

Principal

2021 Blacktown Zone Swimming Carnival

Zone carnival will take place at Mount Druitt Pools on Thursday 18th February. Permission slips will be going home this week with the zone team. We are still awaiting confirmation on parent attendance. We thank you for your patience during this time.

Crunch & Sip

At MIPS we encourage our students to bring fruit and vegetables as a snack to fuel them throughout their day. We allocate time during their learning where students can crunch on either a fruit or veg and sip on water!

To give your child the opportunity to develop healthy habits by participating in the Crunch & Sip break, we ask that you pack a ready-to-eat serve of fruit or vegetable, along with a bottle of fresh water.

For more information please refer to the following brochure.

We are a Sun Smart School!

We would like to remind you to ensure children bring their school hat everyday. Applying sunscreen on your child in the morning will also help protect them from the harmful UV rays during outdoor play. Make sunscreen part of your morning routine.

Absent Explanation Reminder

If your child is sick or absent you are required to notify the school. All explanations for absences must be provided within 7 days of the first day of any period of absence.

Absences can be explained using one of the following methods:

  • Online: log the absence directly using (Skool Bag App)
  • Email: the school at mimmac@parra.catholic.edu.au
  • Telephone: the school office ph. 9933 7800
  • Note sent with your child
  • Where an explanation has not been received within the 7 day timeframe or the explanation has not been accepted, the school will record the absence as unexplained or unjustified on the student’s record. The school will not be able to accept explanations which are not received within the 7 day timeframe.
