Principals report

It is great to report that all students and classes have settled happily into the start of the 2022 school year. The COVID world continues to be challenging for all our families but I must thank each and every one of our staff and families for supporting me in keeping our school a healthy and happy place to be.

You would have received your second supply of Rapid Antigen Tests from the Department this afternoon and by administering the test to your children twice a week, gives that added level of confidence to us all. For those families who have had to isolate, thankyou for your honesty and commitment to follow the NSW Health guidelines.

2022 Staff

Hopefully, all families received my Welcome Back Letter on the 1st February, which outlines the class structures and staffing positions for 2022 Introducing our New Staff

1. Mrs Elena Wood- Mrs Wood is teaching 1/2W on Monday through to Thursday. Her family has moved to Blackheath from Coogee for the year.

2. Mrs Leanne Howell- Mrs Howell is our library teacher and will be teaching all classes on Fridays.

3. Mrs Leona George- Joins Zig Zag this year for 2 days per week. She will be teaching 1/2W on Fridays and will take each class for Teacher Release on Tuesdays.

4. Mrs Jill Hookham- Mrs Hookham continues in her Intervention role and will be taking this group on a one to one basis on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Consistency of Learning for Classes

The need for staff to self-isolate with their families has been a bit of a juggle of teachers on classes over the past two weeks. Rest assured however, that classes are following the recommended Department of Education daily Digital learning program packs to ensure consistency of learning for all students, no matter who is teaching the class.

This has proven very beneficial in this current situation and if your child is isolating at home and is not sick, they could continue to follow the program while at home during family isolation.

Please contact Mrs Gillmore and she will arrange for the link to be shared with details for your child to follow. Of course, if your child is sick they should take the time to completely rest and recover and not worry about school work.

School Events happening soon
