2021 - Term 4 Week 2

Acknowledgement of Country

We would like to acknowledge Goulburn as an important meeting place that was inhabited, at first contact with Europeans, by the Gundungurra and Ngunawal people who are the traditional custodians of this land. We would like to pay respect to Elders both past, present and future, also extending that respect to other Aboriginal people present today on the land in which we meet, work and live.

News from the South

News from the South

Welcome back students, families and staff to term 4. We hope our families had a relaxing break, after a busy time learning from home. As we return to school under a staged plan we welcome back KM, 1/2H, 1/2F and K/3R on Monday 18th October under level 3+ restrictions

Monday 25th October - 30, 4RS, 5/6F, 3/6M, and 3/6CB return under level 3+ restrictions. As all students and staff return to school we will be ensuring that we follow all the guidelines provided by the department of education to keep everyone safe. All Goulburn South staff on site will be fully vaccinated and wearing face masks both indoors and outside as directed by by the NSW department of education. Level 3+ strongly recommends that primary students also wear masks.

SCHOOL VISITOR CHECK IN

From 18th October all schools will be using the same visitor check in procedure. All visitors to the school must attend attend the front office. New QR codes will be placed at the office and every visitor must scan in. Under level 3+ restrictions only essential visitors will be permitted on site. This unfortunately means parents cannot be onsite. If and when the level of restrictions change we will notify our families.

MAINTENANCE / BUILDING WORKS

Over the duration of Term 4 the school will be undergoing maintenance and building works. The girls and boys toilets beside the canteen will be completely renovated, this project could take till the end of term to complete. The staff car park will be closed off for a period of 2-3 weeks to allow for underground pipe repairs to be completed. All ares will be fenced for safety.

COLES DISTRIBUTION CENTRE

We would like to acknowledge the kind donation received by the Coles distribution centre fundraising team for sending a cheque to the school. It was a most welcome surprise. We will use this donation and put towards student resources,  it is greatly appreciated. The Cole Distribution Centre has provided employment within Goulburn for a number of years and it is sad to see it close.

Library News

The library is excited to be welcoming back students for classes and borrowing as we return to face to face learning. All loans have been renewed until week 4.
