Principal's Message

 Kindergarten 2022

Although it commenced a lot later than it normally would due to Covid, we finally got to meet and welcome last Thursday the cohort of students and their families who will join our school for Kindergarten in 2022. Over the last two years, our youngest students have not been able to enjoy the kind of comprehensive orientation that we would have liked to have given them. Despite the limitations that we are operating under, the first orientation visit went really well and if early indications are anything to go by, we have some delightful students joining our school next year.

Our next opportunity to support the 2022 Kindergarten groups will be at the second orientation visit on Thursday 9 December. My thanks to Mrs Lewis and the office team that have done a great job of helping to connect with our new families this year and welcome them through the orientation. We look forward to getting to know them all even better in 2022.

Presentation Day

A lot of work has been happening in the background to plan and prepare for our 2021 Presentation Day assemblies on Wednesday December 8. As you would be aware, parents and carers are unfortunately not able to attend these in person.

As has been our custom recently, if your child will be receiving an award on Presentation Day you will receive notification of this via email so that you are able to make arrangements to join us on Zoom for the presentation. Emails will be sent early this week to families of those students who will be receiving an award. We will try to be specific about which Stage Presentation to join so that you know the correct time to Zoom in. In doing this, we would respectfully ask that you do not disclose to your child that they are to receive an award, we would like the announcements of awards on the day to be a surprise to the students.

School Phone Line

Please allow me to apologise if you tried to contact us last week but experienced difficulty with the school phone lines. Whilst our broadband service and internal calls were working properly, the exterior phone lines dropped out and were inoperable. A technician was booked and investigated the issues on Thursay but was unable to locate or resolve the problem. They did confirm that it is a service issue not a school issue. Another visit is booked for next week, but we have been advised it will take a few days to address.

In the meantime, incoming calls have been diverted to a mobile device which is not always reliable, however where possible, if you need to contact the school and it is not urgent, please use the school email address Lambton-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au to send messages. It will be monitored closely throughout the day. Once again, we apologise for the inconvenience caused.

Have a great week

David Holland

In the first week of December, we will start sending out enrolment packs and entering enrolment onto the Child Care Subsidy software, ready to commence on Day 1, Term 1, 2022.

We look forward to meeting you all

Donations needed of Second-hand Items

We are always in need of more 2nd hand uniforms to assist families through this transitional period. If you have uniforms that still have life in them or your child is leaving the school (eg Year 6) we would sincerely appreciate donations of these items. Students are encouraged to bring these items to the school office.
