Letter from the Principal

Tuesday April 27th 2021

Dear Families

Tomorrow is listed as international world day for safety and health. It is always good to stop and take note of how well we are tracking with our own personal health and that of our children. Our safety, health and welfare and that of all in our community should always be one of our highest priorities. The children learn from an early age what it means to be safe, how to keep themselves and others safe and how to maintain good health and wellbeing. There has been a lot of research recently into the implications of not getting enough sleep and the impact this has on our health. It is difficult sometimes in the busyness of family life to maintain good bedtime routines for our children and indeed ourselves. Fatigued children find it difficult to concentrate at school and sometimes it leaves them feeling irritable and unable to maintain positive relationships with their peers. Maybe this international world day for safety and health we can take the time to establish good bedtime routines and prioritise sleep in all our lives. May we all get the rest we need so that we can fully flourish with energy and vitality to live our best lives!

Being Safe Online

As our children are growing up in this digital world it is important that we as parents and teachers stay abreast of the positive and negative implications of our children’s use of social media. Most platforms have age limits on when children are able to legally access them. These age limits are put in place to protect our young people as they navigate online platforms. I have included a link in this week's newsletter offering a parents guide to snapchat. Being informed and educated as parents and teachers helps us to support our children and keep them safe from harm through social media.
