Principal's Report

We have come to the end of the term in what has been an extraordinary year. I would like to acknowledge all the staff for their hard work and dedication this year. I am so lucky to lead such a wonderful group of educators and staff who showed resilience, innovation, initiative and care to our students, their peers and the school community. I am a very proud principal!

Thank you to our students who have worked hard this year remotely and face to face. COVID-19 has shown us how resilient you are and that school is the best place to be. Thank you to our parent community that has supported us this year and enabled us to ensure that your children continued to learn and thrive.

Best wishes to our Year 6 students who will be leaving us to commence their secondary education in 2021. We hope you remember us fondly. Best wishes also to any of our students and families that are leaving us this year. We hope you enjoy your new schools.

I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I hope you enjoy the summer holidays and keep safe. I look forward to seeing you all in 2021.

COVID-19 DoE Guidelines and Start of the Year Organisation

New DoE guidelines will be given to the school at the start of Term 1 2021. As we will need to maintain social distancing measures for adults we will continue the same procedures for the morning drop off and afternoon pick up as per this year from Weeks 1 to  5.

Parents are to drop off their children at the front gate in the mornings and not enter the school site. In the afternoon parents are to wait across the school at the public park. The children will come out in their class groups in a staggered fashion commencing with Early Stage 1 (Kindergarten) at 2:30pm. We ask that all parents wait in the park and maintain social distancing. Teachers will dismiss your child when they see you. Students who walk home by themselves will be dismissed at 3:00pm.

The gates will continue to be locked in the mornings. If your child is late, please bring them to the pedestrian gate and call the office so that they can be let into the school. We will reassess this organisation based on DoE guidelines in regards to the rest of the term midway through the term.

Our new Year 5 Opportunity Class students will commence on Friday 29 January. These students and their parents can enter the school site for that morning only and wait in the grassed area near the Yarning Circle near the front gate. Please ensure that you maintain social distancing whilst on the school site.

Our new Early Stage 1 students commence their first full day at school on Thursday 4 February 2021. These students and their parents can enter the school site for that morning only and wait in the bottom grassed area opposite the Heritage Building. Please ensure that you maintain social distancing whilst on the school site.

Staff members will be on hand to ensure a smooth transition into school.

As per previous years, students will remain in their old classes until the end of Week 2 to avoid the necessity to change classes due to a fluctuation in student enrolments.

Staff News

Congratulations to Mrs Clarke who has been permanently appointed to our school as the Deputy Principal through Merit Selection. Mrs Clarke has been working as a Deputy Principal and Instructional Leader for the past three years in a school funded position. The Deputy Principal role is now a permanent position due to our increasing enrolments. We are thrilled to have her here with us. Mrs Clarke's Assistant Principal position will be filled in Term 1 next year.

Merit selection process occurred this year to fill a number of temporary teaching positions with permanent teachers. We welcome Miss Tori Croxen, Mrs Angela Ansted, and Mrs Kylie Rincon to our fabulous school and hope they enjoy working as part of our team. Welcome also Miss Courtney Bransby who will be joining us as a temporary teacher and Mrs Carla Azzopardi also joining us as a part-time temporary teacher.

A number of our temporary and casual teachers will be leaving us this year. I would like to thank Mrs Janelle Di Giglio, Mrs Carolyn Coffey, Mrs Luisa Smith, Mr Kyle Romero and Mr Patrick Cuskelly for their hard work and dedication to our students and school community. I wish them all the very best for the future.

Year 6 Graduation and Farewell and Presentation Assemblies

In Weeks 8 and 9 we held our Year 6 Graduation and Farewell and our Presentation Assemblies. These events celebrated the achievements and successes of our Year 6 students and award winners from  Early Stage 1 to Stage 3. Congratulations to each and every one of you! We are very proud of you all.

Thank you to Mrs Taylor and the Stage 3 Team for organising the Year 6 Graduation and Farewell. I am sure our students will have fond memories of these two events for years to come.

Thank you to Mrs Jeff and Mr Hazell for organising four separate Presentation Assemblies. Each was a great success.

Do you have a neighbour who has a 4 or 5 year old preschool age child not enrolled in school for 2021?

Kingswood Public School is now accepting enrolments for Kindergarten 2021. Enroling early provides sufficient time for our school to plan for the new kindergarten cohort and upcoming year. Due to NSW DoE COVID guidelines our Transition to School program can only be undertaken by those children who have completed the online enrolment and have all documentation provided.

You must be within area to enrol at Kingswood Public School. While Department Guidelines limit our ability to accept out of area enrolments, if you feel you have special consideration to enrol at out school, please contact the office. You may use the

Cubbyhouse COVID-19 Update 18 August 2020

Dear families,

As you may be aware, NSW Health has tightened restrictions and access to all public schools. Cubby OOSH has put in place the following COVID Safety Plan in line with the new regulations;

Before School Care – Effective Immediately

Upon arrival at the school, one authorised parent or guardian is to remain at the school entry gate and contact centre staff directly on 0450 180 383.  A Cubby OOSH educator will collect your child from the gate, accompany them to the service and sign your child into care.

After School Care – Effective Immediately

Upon arrival at the school, one authorised parent or guardian is to remain at the school entry gate and contact centre staff directly on 0450 180 383.  A Cubby OOSH educator will sign your child out of care and accompany them to you, at the gate.

We understand the latest restrictions may cause families some distress.  Please rest assured your family safety is of the upmost importance and your children will continue to receive the best care.  Our current after school programs have proven to be a great success and will continue as planned.

If you have any concerns or questions surrounding the Cubby OOSH Covid Safety Plan, please contact our head office support team.  Cubby OOSH appreciate your support during this period.

Further information can be found;
