Lithgow Public School Newsletter

Term 4 Week 10

From the Principal

Dear Lithgow Public School Community,

As the year draws to a close I would like to take the opportunity to thank the staff of Lithgow Public School for their tireless work in what was a challenging year. Regardless of these challenges, the teaching, office and support staff have maintained their professionalism and energy to make sure that your children receive the best education possible.

I would also like to thank the community for their ongoing support through an extremely difficult period. I look forward to the school once again being accessible so that our parents, carers and wider community can share the successes of our students in person in 2021.

I would like to take the opportunity to acknowledge and thank several staff members who will move on to new experiences and adventures in 2021. Mr Andrew Rochford will be leaving us and will take up a new position at Katoomba Public School. Mrs Kim Cefai will be leaving us and will take up a new position at St Patrick’s School. Mr David Knight is returning to his substantive school at Banks in Sydney. Ms Judith Mahon is leaving us after working as an Intervention teacher for the last few years. I would like to personally thank these staff members for all of their efforts and for the care and dedication they have shown to the students at Lithgow Public School and wish them all the best with the next stages of their careers.

I would also like to welcome several new teaching staff to the school. I would like to welcome Ms Rachelle Deveraux, Mr Michael Clarke, Miss Ella Pappalardo, Mrs Brooke Wilkinson, Mrs Kathleen Davis, Mr Jordan Inzitari and Ms Terri Collins. We look forward to working with you at Lithgow Public School in 2021 and beyond.

I would also like to inform the community that Lithgow Public School will employ 4 Intervention Teachers in 2021. These teachers will be working Tuesday to Thursday each week and will provide intensive support to students in need across the school. This will include supporting students with specific gifts or talents. This is a significant investment in the students of Lithgow Public School and will be of great benefit to many students.

At the commencement of the 2021 school year we will provide a full overview of classes and their teachers as well as supporting staff across the school.

Thank you again for all of your support during 2020.

I wish all families a safe Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

Students in Year 1-6 will return to school on Friday 29 January with kindergarten students beginning school on Friday 5 February.

Kind regards,

Mark Davies | Principal | Lithgow Public School

Farewell

The staff at Lithgow Public School would like to acknowledge 4 awesome and incredible teachers who are moving on to new adventures in 2021.

Andrew Rochford will be an incredible loss as he continues his career at Katoomba Public School.

Judith Mahon has been a wonderful asset, supporting our students. We wish Judith all the best for her future.

David Knight came and shared his extensive talents with us for only 1 year. David is returning to his school at Banks Public School. Their gain is our loss.

Kim Cefai has done a fantastic job with our Stage 3 students and will be missed. The staff wish her all the best at her new school and we are happy that she is remaining a local in our community.

All the best for the future
