We are very excited to inform you all of The Pocket Team for 2021.

We are very grateful to the outstanding learning that has been provided by Rhianna Coburn and Owen Quirk and we wish them every success for 2021 and beyond. Both of these teachers have worked tirelessly this year, and 2019, to ensure a continuation of outstanding learning for our children and they have worked together with the team to support all our school community.

2021 Classes

On Thursday our children will be placed into their new classes for the day to coincide with the kindy transition. They will be taught by their 2021 class teacher/s. Photos of each class will be sent out  on Skoolbag on Thursday morning.

Presentation Afternoon and Performance Evening

Don't forget to return the notes regarding our Presentation afternoon and Performance Evening. We need to know exact numbers attending in order to meet the Department of Education COVID guidelines.

You can also order dinner for the Performance Evening, so make sure you return your note ASAP. Also, if you can help out with cooking, prepping or serving the food at the Performance Evening, please get in touch with us.

Swim Scheme

Swim Scheme will continue this week so keep bringing in your swimmers and towel. On Friday we will have the inflatable up for those competent swimmers. All other children will have a fun session in the small pool. All children will receive an ice block on Friday to conclude the swim scheme.

Opportunity Class Placement Test

During week 6 Lola, Niamh, Chaska and Aziah all sat the Opportunity Class Place Test to gain access to the Department of Education virtual school, Aurora College. This year they are enroling high potential children to study some subjects in Year 5 through the virtual platform and the rest of the subjects in their base school.

We are wishing these four children all the best!

Last Day Presentation

Unfortunately, due to inside space restrictions, we will not be holding our usual end of year photo display. We will still be farewelling our Year 6 children in the afternoon. As is tradition, our Year 6 children will sound the school bell for how many years they have been at The Pocket Public School before walking through a student tunnel (parents can continue this in the bus bay) before they jump on the bus for a final tour of The Pocket (catching the early bus towards Main Arm and then returning by 3:05). The bell ringing will be begin at about 2:50pm on the final school day of 2020.

Year 6 Fun Day

As is tradition at The Pocket, our Year 6 children will be having their fun day in Week 10 of this term. Thanks to Rhianna for organising a fantastic day of paddle boarding, delicious lunch and ICE CREAM!

Semester 2 Reports

Our Semester Reports will be going home with all children on Monday 14 December. Unfortunately this year we cannot offer parent teacher interviews. However, if you would like to discuss anything regarding your child's learning, or the report, please get in contact with us.
