Parent Teacher Interviews
In week 9 (Commencing Monday 22 March) you will have the opportunity to meet with your child/ren’s teacher/s to discuss how they have settled into school and plans for their learning and wellbeing this year. We will be using the online booking system for this again which will open next week. More information and instructions for booking will be sent out via Skoolbag and email next week.
Covid Safety
There are still some restrictions in place, relevant to our context and in line with current NSW Health and Department of Education requirements. These include:
- Sign in when coming on site. All visitors other than K-2 parents doing a quick drop off, are required to sign in using the Services NSW QR code and also our sign-in book. This includes people using the uniform shop or working in the canteen.
- Dropping off outside the gate. Parents of students in K-2 are still able to enter for a quick drop off, but all parents are asked to leave immediately. If you would like to catch up with other parents, please do so outside the gate.
- Adults to maintain physical distancing. Especially in the afternoon at pick-up time.
- Staff, students and community members who are unwell are asked to stay at home
We have had informal notification that there is proposed further easing of restrictions soon to be released. We are hopeful that these will enable us to hold our Easter Hat Parade in the traditional way at the end of the term.
Zone Swimming
The zone swimming carnival was held earlier this week. We had some excellent results, but for me the highlight was hearing about the sportsmanship and attitude of Woolooware students. This was even noticed and commented on by staff from other schools! Well done Woolooware! See Mr Field’s report included later in this newsletter.
Easter Parade
Our wonderful P&C team have been working hard to find ways to engage our community and raise some funds in the coming weeks. Look out for information relating to our Easter Raffle, Hot Cross Buns and Easter Parade.
The Parade will be held on the last day of term, Thursday 1 April. On this day, students will be allowed to come in mufti (out of uniform) and wear a hat they have decorated at home. This is not a competition, just an end of term celebration, so no pressure at all! We encourage children as much as possible to use recycled and/or reused materials to make their hat – be creative as possible.
At this stage we are working through developing a covid safety plan for the event which aligns to current requirements. We are hopeful that we will be able to have spectators involved in some way, but there may have to be some restrictions (eg, one spectator per child)… Stay tuned, we will share more accurate information as we have it.
