This week is again a big one at MIPS. We celebrate mums on Friday. Please join us on site for Friday morning for a presentation, blessing, open classrooms, stall and a picnic lunch. Importantly, attendees are to complete the contract tracing from via the QR code at the school entrances and maintain social distancing.
Tomorrow we welcome educational visitors from Padua College, Queensland coming to learn from us regarding effective pedagogy for student learning.
On Thursday, we will meet with our architects and building people to progress our refurbishment plans. I will have more answers then about scope and timelines for the work.
Many students have begun wearing Winter uniform. It is still quite warm during the day so for this week wear what is suitable and we'll announce if we are to all go to Winter uniform.
It was great to have our Infants assembly last Friday. Dismissal was made very difficult and distressing for students who were attempting to be collected as usual while some parents made a delayed exit through the gate. I again ask that when the assembly finishes parents exit the property so we can safely dismiss the students. I know this is a new procedure and your immediate cooperation is sought on this.
We still have parents walking their children through the carpark nearest the church. This is extremely unsafe and must stop. As well, the practice of letting children out in the carpark for them to walk unattended through the traffic must stop. Most issues arise close to the bell in the morning when parents are arriving too late and putting their children and others at risk.
Mums - enjoy a marvelous Mothers' Day. You all deserve it!
