Dear Cooerwull Community,
Welcome Kindergarten
It was wonderful to welcome the kindergarten students to school, last Wednesday, after they completed the Best Start Assessment. Mrs. Lang, Miss Hook and Mrs. Gennari are to be commended for their excellent organisation and ensuring that every student has had the best start to their school experience. Thank you to the parents and carers for working with the school and we are all looking forward to a positive year ahead.

School Community Charter
The NSW Department of Education has introduced The School Community Charter, which outlines the responsibilities of parents, carers, educators and school staff in NSW public schools to ensure our learning environments are collaborative, supportive and cohesive. It describes expectations regarding communicating with our school, that respectful communication is a right and that unacceptable behaviour is not welcome at any time. Please find the charter attached.
Information Brochure
All students will receive a ‘Stage Information Brochure’ this week. The brochure includes organisation information and subject topics for Term 1. If you have any questions please contact the office, on either site, to arrange a time to discuss with your child’s classroom teacher.
COVID-19 Rules (Update)
Throughout the term, the school will continue to provide regular updates regarding COVID-19. Please note that all parents and career will need to check in using a QR Code. Each school has been allocated a QR code and the office staff will assist if needed. Other sign in procedures will also remain in place as required by the NSW Department of Education.

Playground Works Commence
The long-awaited resurfacing of the bottom playground, at primary, has commenced and the first stage is the removal of the soft fall and asphalt underneath. Once this has been completed the laying of the synthetic grass will be completed. Primary students will still have access to the playground equipment and grass area at the front of the school.
Meet The Teacher via Skoolbag
Stage teams will be sending home a welcome video and key information, via Skoolbag APP, on Tuesday 2nd March.
This will provide an opportunity to hear from the staff and learn about what is happening in the classroom and across the stage.
Please contact the infant’s site on 6352-5053 or primary on 6351-3106 if you have any questions regarding school organisation or your child’s educational needs. This is the preferred method of communication at the school. Thank you for your cooperation and ongoing support.
Welcome to the Library for Term One 2021. We have an exciting term planned for the students. Library borrowing days are below so please ensure that your child has their Library bag on their day.
We will be focusing on Library Skills in Term One so that all students know how to use the Library. They will be able to understand the different resources available to them and how to use them.
We also will be looking at a number of quality texts and students will be doing reading responses to those texts.
On Friday 5th March we will be holding our Scholastic Book Fair where students will be able to purchase some wonderful books. The Book Fair will be different this year as parents are still not allowed on the school site. All orders will be on-line. The students will view the books in the cases in the library and they will fill out a wish list. Parents/carers are then able to order on-line and we can give them the book that they have ordered, or we can re-order it if it is sold out.
We had a few orders for Scholastic Book Club instead of the Book Fair last year so please be aware that they are different and have a different ordering system.
The school will also receive a number of books from Scholastic based on the number of books that we sell. We look forward to your support.
