2021 - Term 3 Week 6

Acknowledgement of Country

We would like to acknowledge Goulburn as an important meeting place that was inhabited, at first contact with Europeans, by the Gundungurra and Ngunawal people who are the traditional custodians of this land. We would like to pay respect to Elders both past, present and future, also extending that respect to other Aboriginal people present today on the land in which we meet, work and live.

News from the South

The NSW government has announced that all NSW regional areas are under stay-at-home restrictions and these were introduced from Saturday 5pm 14/8/21 for seven days until Sunday 22/8/21.This means you if you are working from home, and your child is able to be educated from home, please keep them at home to minimise movement in the community. Our school will be open with minimal supervision to support those students who cannot be educated from home, for example if their parent or carer is an essential worker. All students and families will be supported with learning from home materials and resources provided by your teacher.Find resources to help you and your child learn from home at education.nsw.gov.au/parents-learning-at-home and download the NSW school updates app onto your phone to receive the latest updates about the operational status of your child's school.

*** Please ensure that you collect your students learning pack from the school this will ensure that your child can still learn whilst at home. Teachers will be contacting families and advising Zoom meeting times for week 6. As the week unfolds we will have a better idea how week 7 will look. We will support our students and families to the best of our abilities during this time.

*** We would like to add that the students are to keep their learning packs with them. They need to take them home and bring them back each day they attend school. This assists if a student does not come to school they will still have access to their learning packs at home.

*** Students of essential workers must not attend school if unwell, even with mild symptoms of COVID-19. Any person with any COVID-19 symptoms must be sent home and not return to school unless:

  • they have isolated for 10 days, when no medical certificate is available
  • they have a negative COVID-19 test result and are symptom free.

In circumstances where children have other medical reasons for recurrent symptoms, a letter from their GP is sufficient to negate the requirement for a negative test.

P & C News

Welcome back to term 3.

SOME FUNDRAISING EVENTS MAY BE AFFECTED BY CURRENT COVID 19 RESTRICTIONS PLEASE STAY INFORMED BY READING THE NEWSLETTER

The P and C have several fundraising activities for this term. Firstly we will be having a Pie Drive, order forms will be sent home in the next few weeks.

We are also participating in the Crazy Camel fundraiser. We ran this fundraiser back in 2019 and it was extremely successful. This fundraiser involves having your childs' artwork printed into calendars, tea towels, greeting cards etc. These items are then available for purchase. We  will be running this one in the second half of term 3.

It was great to see a few more parents zooming in to our last P and C Meeting. We really appreciate your input and support. We look forward to seeing you all for the next meeting. All parents and family are most welcome. Our next P & C Meeting will be held by Zoom on Tuesday 17th August at 7pm.

Meeting ID: 694 332 202 76

All P & C's rely heavily on parent/carer volunteers. Goulburn South P & C is no different. If you are interested in helping out even for an hour or two there are many ways that we would appreciate the help.

If you would like to express an interest to help out, please notify the office,
