Christ the King North Rocks Newsletter

Term 3 Week 8: Friday 3rd September 2021

Message from the Principal

Dear Parents,

Happy Father’s Day to all our Dads for Sunday!

On Friday the 17th September [last day term 3] the CTK staff will participate in a Staff Development day. On this pupil free day, there will be no online learning nor will there be any supervision on site at school. Parents will be required to organise supervision for their children on the day. Your support in this matter is greatly appreciated.

Semester two reports for each student will be based on the work submitted from their online learning tasks. No E-A grades will be awarded this semester.  Teachers will provide a brief comment for Literacy, Numeracy and Religious Education as well as a brief general statement. Teachers will also give an effort rating for a variety of online learning behaviours.

Following the announcement of the NSW Government return to school plan in term 4, the following schedule will apply. Please note that these dates  are subject to future COVID-19 lock downs and restrictions.

Father's Day Prayer Liturgy Zoom

Thank you to all who joined us for our very special Father’s Day Prayer liturgy Zoom this morning. It was wonderful to see so many of our CTK Dad’s and families gathered together in prayer.

Father’s Day Prayer

Lord we honour our fathers. Like you, our fathers provide for us, direct our paths into truth, and lead us into the way that is right. In your wisdom and love you made all things.

Bless these men, that they may be strengthened as fathers.

Let the example of their faith and love shine forth.

Grant that we, their sons and daughters, may honour them always with a spirit of deep love and respect.

May your Holy Spirit constantly inspire them with justice and mercy, wisdom and strength, patience and self-giving love.

May they receive your grace abundantly, and may they come to experience you through the care and love they give to us.

Amen

Wishing all Dads, Grandpas and father figures in our community, a very Happy Father’s Day on Sunday! Thank you for all that you do for us.

Library News

What a wonderful virtual Book Week we had. Many students and teachers dressed as their favourite book character and had lots of fun completing the book week challenges set by their teachers. Other students read in their favourite places and in some really unusual places. Thank you to all the teachers, students and parents who help to make reading for pleasure such a success.

Captain's Chat

Welcome everybody to Week 8 of Christ the King doing online learning. We are so appreciative of you all doing your best in this difficult situation. We both wish we could all come back to school and see all of you, but unfortunately things aren’t really going that way.

Father’s Day Liturgy:

We want to start off this week’s newsletter with the Father’s Day Liturgy. It was wonderful to be able to come together. All of the Christ the King families who joined this week did a great job listening in and being respectful. The Year 3 and Year 4 readers did an awesome job and the teachers who planned the liturgy made it wonderful to watch and listen.

Book Week:

Last Friday, we celebrated another two weeks of online learning with book week! This year, the book week theme was: Old worlds, New worlds and Other world’s. It was great seeing everyone get dressed up for this fun occasion, even though it was was on zoom. Everyone dressed up wonderfully

Premiers Reading Challenge:

Just a quick reminder, this week is the last week to finish the premier’s reading challenge. Make sure you read as much as you can!

Stars of the Week:

One last thing before we finish up, we want to congratulate the stars of the week. From Year 6 we had: Mariana and Christian From Year 5 we had: Jack From Year 4 we had: Hamish, Olivia t From Year 2 we had: Eva, Victor and finally From Year 1 we had: Zara

Keep going everyone, you are all doing so well and we really appreciate how How guys are handling the situation. We only have two weeks to go, so close! If we can last another two weeks, we can have as much fun, in our homes, during our two week break for the holidays.
